What is up with people on the river these days

Mommy the yankee was mean to me, Waaaa he wouldn’t let me pull out in traffic. Yankee go home just leave your wallet here.

Holy cow there shortbread! Put some southern hospitality in da cup with some jack black and drink it all up!

Jeez guys I just asked a question that didnt make sense to me. Somebody was a jerk in the creek and the guy said that was the reason he moved away? To be perfectly honest it just didnt make much sense to me. Guess only certain people are allowed to post on here?

Sad

PS: I was coming don the creek in my pursuit last week and saw a guy sideways at the boat launch in the current. I pulled him out of the grass, tied off my boat and put his boat on his trailer for him. Wave at me i’ll do the same for you contrary to " popular" belief

I pulled up on two guys high & dry awhile back that let the water get out from under them. Got as close as I could and asked if they needed any assistance. They told me no, they had beer. Was funny!

Saw the boat at Boat & Dock the next week & spoke to em. Funny how you meet some folks.

Airbus - one of the problems with message boards is that it is hard to detect sarcasm and or dry wit. Don’t take it seriously - and welcome to the board. Lots of good posters on this site - most all will share their knowledge - some will show their a$$ - but mostly in fun.

Post often.

Bonzo was supposed to be coming up with a sarcasm font so this kind of thing does not happen.

Guess the fishing down there hasn’t been too good lately…look forward to some cobia posts soon.

Agreed Tarpon but this has been one of the more entertaining threads we’ve had on here in a while. Maybe there will be a little more civility on the water too.

Let’s go fishing…

Fishing has been great - you don’t know if you don’t go - at least thats what my pappy said.

I stop everytime, I think someone needs help, stopped the other day in the Folly River, he was okay … Hopefully someone will return the favor for me one day

Fishing is great around here. And a lot of great advise on this site. But its kind of like golf if you dont go and go often your game will not improve. Stay after it, dont get discouraged. Even if you go shark fishing just for fun. It keeps your spirits up. The fish are here and in numbers. a couple rules to keep in mind. Here is some of the things this board has taught me and have turned out to be true.

  1. If you are not getting hits when you hook is in the water? do Something different.</font id=“blue”>
  2. No fish? move.</font id=“blue”>
  3. Try different baits: bait good for around here: Mud minnows, greenies, live shrimp, Pogies, Ell, Fiddler crabs, 1/4 blue crabs, Squid, Cut bait, Finger mullet and a mess of artificial baits
  4. Trust your instincts, they are right most of the time</font id=“blue”>
  5. Be respectful to others on the water, you represent all of us when you are out there</font id=“blue”>.
  6. Don’t bunch op on other boats: But, keep an eye on where you usley see boats. Thats were the fish are.</font id=“blue”>
  7. bait good for around here: Mud minnows, greenies, live shrimp, Pogies, Ell, Fiddler crabs, 1/4 blue crabs, Squid, Cut bait, Finger mullet.
  8. Be respectful to guys on this board. Most guys are sincere when giving advice. There is a bunch picking on each other, all in fun.
Have fun!! Have fun! Have fun!! And take a kid out at least once a month.</font id=“blue”>

Well I was fishing for Cobia today on me boat. Saw my buddy stuggling against the current on his kayak at the Broad river bridge, he said a BIG OLE cobia broke him off. Had him hitch a ride on my boat and rebaited, he next catches a 35" Cobe for the day. I got spooled by something big, I only had 20lb braid on me and it broke. Was using Pinfish, got alot of hits on pinfish. So there was about 8-10 boats out there and I see a guy waving his hat around and I knew he needed help. A couple of boats saw him because one guy had his bow pointed right at him. I know those other boaters saw him but continued with what they were doing. I un-achor myself and headed his way. He was a fishing guide out of Lemon Island. His battery was dead and could not get his boat started, so he hopped on my boat and I gave him a ride to the landing at the Broad river boat ramp, his wife dropped off new batteries and I took him back to his boat. He got the boat started right up. SO I hope good Karma comes back my way tommorrow for the Cobia, now only if the wind would die down.
