What rod?

I just got a Penn Squidder 140 and I am going to load it with 45lb braid.
What rod would any of you guy’s and gal’s suggest for kingfish on Folly Pier (fighting rod). I don’t want to spend too much, hopefully under 50.00 It will be only be used twice a year.

This is going to be my first attempt at king fishing, looking forward to getting advice when I get there from the Pro’s.

Look up King of the pier on this Forum. I have never met the fellow but from what I know of him he will be the first on to jump in and give you the shirt off his back, knowledgeable on all things pier fishing and eager to help anyone that comes his way.

I agree with Wicked, king is the guy to talk to.

He will tell you not to load it with braid as you don’t want to be the guy who cuts off someone else’s king.
