Post some pics if you would sir. Whether he will admit it or not this is where his heart is. GW makes a VERY good tried and proven boat. Keep winning those pesky JD power awards too.

Well here is a few. Where is the fish box and how big is it?
I like this one. Call and see how egar he is to sell.

I had an old 27 whaler with cuddy. Boat had 10’ beam and 310 gallon fuel tank. Averaged 1 mpg, and used about 5 gallons of oil to fish the ledge. Was a very dry boat and had more cockpit space than most diesel sportfish boats the same size. The 10’ beam made for a great trolling platform, and boat was rock solid.

It was great if you were on a bean bag in the back, you did not feel a thing going out nor did you get a drop of water. I tended to not run out faster than 22 to 25 kts for a couple of reasons, keep fuel cost down, and avoid the pounding.

I fish a 25 grady several times a year and my whaler rode very similar except for the grady sprayed a lot more. The whaler makes a thud sound when it comes off a wave due to the solid foam filled hull. The sound alone makes you feel as if you are pounding, but in reality it was not that bad.

That being said, I was always glad when it was time to start trolling vs running. It was a great platform and would have been more enjoyable with 4 strokes. But I dont regret selling it one bit. The cuddy was great for the kid when she was younger , but other than that it was seldom used.

On plus side you had room to fish with 6 people in comfort to help defray the cost. Burning 180 to 200 gallons, plus oil was not fun and the ox 66 motors would nickel and dime you to death.

Yea the Luhrs is a great boat. The 454’s run fine but I will admit are not the best regarding fuel consumption. I have contemplated removing them and either going with gas EFI’s or diesels. The problem is I would never get my money back for the investment. That’s why it’s for sale at a very reasonable price. It would be an easy repower but you would need to hold onto the boat for many years to get some of your money back.

I am looking for a change in boats.

Will try and post pics this weekend. Haven’t heard anything from the OP. Do you know if he is interested.
