What to do on a rainy day?

What you do with the stuff?

That’s a nice place to werk in

Scrap yard. For most of it.$70.
Had a set of double hump heads I carried to the machine shop. They gave me $250 for them. If I would have went through the trouble I could have got a lot more,I’m sure.
Last week I started cleaning out the annex. I had a $800 day at the scrap yard.

Sorry OTC, double hump heads are a thing of the past, could be worth a little if they were 202 instead of 194’s Pull a set of junk yard cast iron vortec heads and they will out flow a tricked out set of camel humps. Then add in the cheap bad arse high flowing aluminum heads you can get today… Days gone by.

Kind of like me. Becoming obsolete.
The guy at the machine shop told me almost the same thing word for word.
But the folks that are buying them are the old farts in the classic car clubs.

You’ll never be obsolete! I remember in my teens spending a whole afternoon swapping out a cam, intake, headers, and carb. All for a 30-40 hp gain. Thought I was doing something. Now you can take 15 min reprogram certain vehicles with NO hard parts and gain a 100hp + Crazy how the manufacture has them tuned down. Heck you can do a program and gain all that hp and increase mileage as well!!

I’m fighting an emissions related issue right now. Got some new software, but still limited in things I can do. Trucks been in a deep “burn off” for 40 min now. I’ve seen them go as long as 1 1/2 hours. Usually about 45 min. Twiddle your fingers and hope it completes the process. Play on CFC…

I’m going to do a cam in my Street glide before too long. Been doing my homework on tuners. They’re between $500 and $1,000. Problem is EPA has stepped in and regulated (neutered) the tuners. Hit several of the companies for fines around a million dollars.
Occasionally you can find an older one that’s not been used. But they won’t crazy money.
I seen one the other day the guy wanted $2,500 for it. What makes them so difficult to find is there Vin locked.
My other option is take it to the dyno. But I still have to buy a tuner to unlock the ECM.
Not looking for crazy horsepower.Probably around 30 to 40 horsepower gain.
New head pipes, intake manifold and wideband oxygen sensors. And cam. No head work or cylinders.
The good old days where you could just change a few Jets in the carb. Times are a changing.

Trying to get another one out of the ground/mud…

When I saw that first pic I thought you were going into the pond digging business.

A fish race track…
That’s why I’m so happy we don’t do new work hardly ever. Especially trompting around in that red stuff

Footers for a pole barn??

Yes Sir, this one is a Barndaminium.
Two more on the same property.
I hope?

Actually, a Pole Barn doesn’t need footings.

The bearing points are on the poles.

The footers are for the inside, load bearing walls?

There are no " load bearing" walls, on a Pole Barn.

Gotta do, what ya gotta do…

Barndaminium.Had to Google.
What’s up with the square in the corner. They putting a vault in or something. hahaha

Code requires " load bearing" footings.
Not necessary!

Keep the pics coming, MN.

Thanks

Hey Fred, getting truck to spread fertilizer per soil sample results tomorrow. Other than the nitrogen, going with little less than half as planting Sunn Hemp next week which adds it to soil.

Pretty jacked to get this done!!

Edit to say that Sunn Hemp has like 30% protein in the leaves if I recall correctly.

30% is super high!! Alfalfa (one of the highest protein hays out there) is only 14%. Keep us all informed… I’m very interested in this.

I’ll try to post a photo of my clover “crop” this weekend.

Got the poles set on Monday, in a light rain.

Plumbing yesterday.

Inspection today.

Concrete tomorrow.

Plumbing on a Pole Barn? Looking good.

This one is a Barndaminium. A hybrid, consisting of a pole barn with living quarters inside.
