what winds do you fish

I am wondering what wind direction do you fish. I was thinking any wind is ok but east .

used to be a rhyme;

east fish bite the least
west fish bite the best
south puts the bait in fishes mouth
can’t remember the north rhyme

Thanks Izzydone I knew about the east and west . I never figured out which way folly beach runs from the pier to lighthouse end .

I have heard several people on this forum say the NE wind is the worst. In my own experience any easterly wind is bad.

A bad day of fishing beats a good day of work anytime.

When the wind is blowing in the East,

'Tis not fit for man nor beast,

When the wind is blowing in the South

It brings the food over the fish’s mouth,

When the wind is blowing in the West,

That is when the fishing’s best!

Personally, I’ve never done good on anything with a northwind

Izzy are you saying fishing from south is ok ? Thanks for info . I think I will try the surf at Folly this year . I saw where the water temp was 72 so it should be good .

3x on south and west. East not too bad if it’s a light wind - but, that’s a oxymoron last time I checked.:imp: Usually howling!!
