What would you

Okay I am driving down the street on my way to work this morning,a group of 5-6 young boys maybe 10-13 years old are walking down I assume headed to school,I slow down they line up across the street and do not move,I stop they surround the car growling and yelling obsentities. I made no gesture to appear bothered and they went on there way,now I was a little upset and I phoned the police I am sure they were gone by the time anyone showed up.Oh yeah I wanted to pull a gun out but two wrongs do not make a right. I have lived on the street for 24 years and this is the first time but I am affaid it won’t be the last and I will not put up with it.Just wondering how some might have handled it. My thought was do not let them see it bothered me; I think they just wanted a reaction. So what would you do???

5-6 pre-teens intimidated you?

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

You did the right thing. Never escalate a situation that you can easily leave unharmed. Put on your best Southern smile and say “yall boys have a good day” and drive away.

I would have gotten out, with a can of whoop ass on hand, and they would have scattered… 10-13 year old boys do not have the mental toughness to stand up to an angry grown man. I have a short fuse though, so I don’t advise you to do what I would have done…

But, as Cracker Larry said, you probably did the right thing…

Honestly, a gun should have not crossed your mind in that situation. I would probably leave it at home for a few weeks. You can’t pull out a gun every time someone get’s in your face. If you shot a 10 year old boy, you would be thrown under the jail house…

Floor it and run over any that still want to stand in your way then claim you were in fear of your life.

From a 10 year old? Yeah, the judge is going to have lots of sympathy with that story!

You should have just got out of the car. I bet they would have spread like roaches…

Pull out your phone and get them all on video. Send a copy to the police. If that were my kid I’d want to know. He wouldn’t be able to sit down for a couple weeks!!

You handled the situation the way you should have by not giving them what they wanted which was a reaction. If it happens again get out your cell and shoot a video not a weapon.

People will forget what you said…
People will forget what you did…
But people will never forget how you made them feel.

Put in neutral and red-line engine. Maintain a crazed, empty stare straight ahead. Do not make eye contact. They should scatter before the engine blows.

It ain’t no mystery…this beer’s history!

We’ve got kids younger than that in our neighbor hood who think they own the streets. Won’t move for anything, makes fun of anyone walking, riding bikes, jogging or whatever. Had a group walk out to the middle of the street and then cross the line as I got to them forcing me to move over so as not to run them over. One of them screamed like a screech owl right in my ear. I backed up and asked the kid if he new me and had I done anything to him. The answer was no. Then I asked why he screamed in my ear. The answer to that was " because I can". The next day on my way home the gather in the street again so I slow down to about 5mph until I’m about 20 ft from them. Jam the brake and punch the gas. Tires smoking and start easing up off the brake. Mom and dad come running out the house. I stop and explain what was happening. Mom screaming at me and dad slapping the kids in the head and then apologises to me.

I have done some of the suggested things in the past, but when it happened to my wife things changed for me . We both decided to go down the street where it happened to her one day and they did the same as described above with them covering the street, well I decide to take matters into my own hands, and out came a piece of rubber water hose and I commenced to swinging that bad boy like I was trying to lasso a horse and caught a couple of them in various places, needless to say when they saw my wife’s car or my truck coming down the street they parted ways and made a clear path out of the street.

Double D.

We had a group of kids like that in our neighborhood a few years back. The kids were just a little older and wore the goth style clothes. They thought they owned the place. My wife and I used to call them the “shaggys”. I used to laugh to myself thinking how tough they thought they were and all the while being referred to as shaggys.

I think the camera is the best thing. Then the parents. Unfortunately most parents now a days dont care
Or post their pictures on social media and embarrass them

One would hope that would be the case but, unfortunately many parents now side with their kids regardless of their behavior. The “my kid can do no wrong” mentality permeates our society. That is one reason it is so tough to just be a teacher now days. Ask me how I know.

Hell, my mom, grandmama and wife would have got out and snatched two of them up by the ears and goose-stepped them all the way to their parents, then gone back for the rest if they had the stones to hang around.

Maybe I should photoshop that card to Adult Card Revoked for these Sit-Chee-A-Shuns.

Your mother and grandmother sound just like mine. My grandmother raised 13 children on a GA dirt farm, she could easily handle 6 alone
