I might head down to charleston to saltwater fish. What’s biting? And has anyone ever fished the small waterfront pier in the charleston harbor, if so what can you catch from there as well as is there anything going on at folly pier and are there any sharks biting in the charleston area? Thank You
which pier are you speaking of? The Mt. PLeasant pier?
I usually stay in the surf. haven’t really been able to get out much yet, but whiting are biting somewhat and the big ones should be in soon as well. Black drum are still hanging around apparently since mr. Parker caught a couple nice ones earlier this week. Reds can be caught and rays.
Kingfisha I don’t know when you were planning on coming down but this weekend looks rough. The surf will be pretty much impossible to fish Friday and Saturday with winds 25-35 mph NE and gusts over 40. I can’t predict what the winds are next weekend, but the solunar rating is “great” which is a positive, but not the only thing to look for. For myself ,strong NE winds are tough for surf fishing. The tide next weekend 4/22 Friday is low at 1:45pm which is a great time to scout the beach out so you can drop baits in the holes and troughs as the water rolls in. If you catch any whiting or blues sling um out at dusk on a shark rig. Good luck to ya Sir:smiley: If your looking for pier advice you do better off listening to someone else or calling them, I’m sure they can fill you in.
