What's the new Buoy

Went out on Sunday and noticed a yellow buoy shoreward of the A can. its a yellow buoy like at the 40 and the 60, which usually mark fish havens. anyone know what’s up?

Was it still there when you came back? It could have been adrift.

We went to the 60 on Saturday and Sunday (first time ever out there), but I don’t think we saw that particular buoy, unless I’m misunderstanding something. I did see a buoy just like the one at the 60 (that was in a spot not marked as anything on the gps), but it was closer in than the black-ish buoy that seemed to mark the 40 (based on the location of the 40 on the gps). I did wonder what it was there for.

Again, that was the first time out there for me, so my understanding of what the “A can” is, etc. may be wrong.

There are two bouys at the Edisto Forty. The two at the fourty are probably only 60’ apart, one is yellow and the other is kinda faded yellow with barnacles. There is one yellow bouy at the Edisto 60. If you saw a yellow bouy near the A can, it was probably not supposed to be there. The c,b, and a cans are striaght off the beach in about a 155 heading from the C can.

Probably the old Edisto 40 buoy has broken loose, and has drifted. DNR keeps me informed on this stuff, but probably don’t know it has broken loose and drifted.

Please call DNR and inform them.
