I wanna put my little brother on some fish, and I love catching fish also… I would like to take him and a friend out fishin. I’m thinkin either pitt street (never been sounds good) or the DI pier(never been looks good) or shem creek pier(same story) or even folly beach at the groins. Open to other suggestions. Basically I’m lookin for a place that has fish and is relatively easy for them to fish, and I could tempt myself with big fish or sheepshead, maybe a place to toss my shark rod off the end for sharks or bull reds possibly. I just need advice and areas to take them so I can get him to like fishing. Redfish trout flounder shark for them or sheeps depending on how pressured they are as long as I can get them somethin to bring home. Might make a plan for Friday sometime…
I live in Old Village and go to Pitt Street all the time. It’s hit or miss but when it’s hit it’s good. The best time is to fish the incoming low or high tide. The best place to go is all the way to the end of the pier and cast to the left or the right along the grass. When I go I always bring two poles, one with a carolina rig and either cut mullet or squid and I use that as my bottom bait rig and then I bring my G Loomis spinning reel usually with a DOA popping cork with either live or artificial shrimp. You’ll catch flounder, redfish, trout, ladyfish, mullet, and some sheepshead there. I’ve caught a few sharks and a ray too.
Also, check your PMs. I might want to go with ya’ll.

At Pitt Street, the 11th or 12th old bridge piling on the left on incoming tide. Cast up against the incoming in the middle. Usually small spottail, but once in awhile some keepers. Up against the grass on the left side before the split is a pool that holds some large spottail if you can get the bait to it. Nice flounder on the bar that is between where the creek splits, cast to the point and reel in slowly. Explore.
