where to stay?

I am from upstate and would like to fish around HHI. Thought Palm Dunes would work but no trailer parking and no ramp. Anyone know of accomodations with dock and trailer parking? checking VRBO as we speak…

We usually rent someone’s guest house or garage apartment in Beaufort. Most everything on HHI is condos and they do not allow trailers. This time of year, they may allow it since the occupancy is low. We’ve stayed at Captain Steve’s place and he’s from the upstate as well. Here’s a link to his garage apartment:

If you are renting in a plantation they will not allow you to bring a trailer in unless it is stored in the garage and they will come check on it because they are uptight. If you are looking for a small condo on HH give my mom a call at 843-689-5900 or a look at her website www.palmettosands.com

You can get a short term marina slip. Both Palmetto Bay and Skull Creek Marina have short term slips and they also have trailer parking allowed (for a fee also). VRBO has some homes listed with a dock, but I have not tried them myself.
On a couple of occasions, I just parked my car/boat in the hotel parking lot. Most hotels are not full this time of year.

Try Hilton Head Harbor, they have a boat ramp on site, and a place for your trailer. Convienetly located on the ICW so you can fish the North end or South end with ease.

Are you referring to the RV park? If so, they don’t allow use of the ramp unless you are staying there.

I am aware they are they same and I was just passing on good info. They do rent slips to the public both short term and long, and if he keeps his boat there even for just a couple days, they most certainly will let him use the ramp. Give them a call.

A couple of the mini-storage places have boat parking by the day. Beach City storage is one.
