White Shark in Edisto

http://www.ocearch.org/profile/mary_lee/

she has come in a lot closer than normal this time. who wants to go water skiing?!

She came up the Cape Fear River a bit last fall. She is definitely not shy about shallowish water.

Hope to catch a glimpse of her one day

Something about me, a 10 foot net, 20 foot boat and a 16 foot 3500 pound shark don’t add up.

I was wondering what was drawing Mary Lee into the shallow water until I saw the picture of the half eaten dolphin on the link above.

The next time I’m shrimping the combehee banks alone at night I bet I’m going to hear the song from JAWS. Wait, there may not be a next time.

Well - we were there running the poles on that day with a 8’ net. When I saw the track map I said Hoooooooleee Shat batman. Kinda erie.

Seeing that 16 ft, 3500 pound monster come right into St. Helena sound is pretty wild. Fished and shrimped right there on those flats where her path was is kind of scary.

The only issue I have with this is this is the 1 shark that we know comes here how many come thru that we don’t know about?
