heard a report from a friend . that his plumber was kingfishing 8 miles from 4ki and they had a 15 ftr circle the boat for around 30 mins he said that is head was 4 and 1/2 ft wide . very disturbing that he told me this the day after we were freediving 4ki and had a monsterous mystery shark about 10 ft under neath the spades that were down about 8 ft creep me the #$%^ out . dont think it was a tiger maybe huge sandbar but it def had a vibrant white belly . and was atleast 12ft long my friend that was with me said that it was bigger. anyone got any thoughts or opinions on this . i know the migrate down our coast in the winter but havent heard of one in junes?

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

sounds to me like a great white- seeing a big shark underwater will make people think all kinds of crazy if they aren’t used to or comfortable seeing the sharks- i freedive there often and have seen some big sharks there but never a great white- u guys should have inspected a lil closer…i would love the chance to dive with a great white as long as nothing to aggressive was going on- thanks for posting
Hey, c’mon, Salty-by Da Moons standards the spelling is right on.

I thought these water temps were too warm to support great whites…they like cold water…

I have a sharks tooth that we found while walking at Folly Beach County Park… area biologists say it is an adult Great White tooth. This was a suprise to me but its about 2 and 1/2 inches long and it is definitely not a tiger shark tooth. They are distinctly different in shape, so they are around or at least were
we tryed to inspect we circled the spades a hand full of times it was a good ways down and there was a layer of pollin lookin junk acroos the surface it was def pretty big we have seen a big tiger before and multiple big hammers this looked diff and bonzo thats why i was asking because i thought the same thing about water temp but this guy is an avid king tournament fisherman and does welll he would have no reason to make up a story about one swimming around his boat
I’m so Charleston i got spanish moss on my balls!!
Da Moons-
Have you been hitting the fish whistle too much or what?
Short grass and tight lines, make a man feel so fine!
Its the resident tiger shark. Were 2 Cobia following it? I saw the same fish spool a boat beside me 2 times. It kept coming back to the chum bag. 12 to 14 feet.
im not sayin what we saw was a white it was prob that tiger but im sayin is one was seen only 8 miles from the yellow bouys and i wouldnt be to surprised if it may have visited the reef it was hard to tell it was deep and the pollen film on the surface was stupid thick . we did catch a lil tunni and tossed it on the big rod and with in 5 mins had a big fish on that we gave chase to 4 thirty minutes before hook pulled but bw yes this fish was 12 to 14 but there werent any cobes by it

Great whites like the cooler temps, more like the fifties. I tagged one once in December and the water temp was 55 degrees…but I guess anything is possible.
Doubt any white sharks have been seen off of our coast recently. They water temps from 54 to 75 and teh water here hasn’t been 75 for awhile now.
so rwl your telllin me that this guy just decided he was gonna make up a bs story about the shark circling the boat ? why ? he is a hell of a fisherman and brings home tons of money in the king tournaments i think he has better **** to do then just make up aomething like that . look up the shark attacks in australia in 2009 th water got so hot that it is thought that it pushed the sharks closer to beach to cooler water they hadnt had an attack in 80 years then they had 8 in 2 months . whos to say that this guys bull shutin
I’m so Charleston i got spanish moss on my balls!!
water temp was 81 degs wen fish was seen just got confirmation on that so beleive what you want since you are all experts on white sharks
I’m so Charleston i got spanish moss on my balls!!
Whoa whoa whoa Damoons!
You must be really passionate about stories on the internet!! No where in my post did I say he was BS’ing did I? I merely said I doubt is was a white shark, thats all! I never mentioned any names or credibilty of anyone! I thought this was a public forum that people posted opinions on. While I have seen the most experienced and talented fishermen tell tall tales of the sea, I never said your friend was doing so!
Next time you post something do not write “anyone got any thoughts or opinions on this” if you do not in fact want any!! Now settle down and go fishing!
ok so why in fact do you doubt that there was one seen im thinkin that if it circled the boat for 30 mins it wouldnt be to hard to id the fish . how many other sharks do you no of that would be 15 and have a head 4 and a half ft wide that would resemble a white . thoughts or opinions lol

There is a big thermocline offshore starting in about 60’. It is quite cool right now despite the 80 temp on the surface.

I doubt it because of what I have read and seen over the last 35 years of frequenting these waters. Also, you said the head was 4.5’ feet wide. A huge Tiger sharks head is very wide, while a great white head, while still big on a huge one, narrows a bit at the nose. I know you said the guy is a hell of of a kingfishermen and brings home a ton of money fron king tournaments. Don’t know how that qualifies him as a great white expert more than any other guy on here that fishes alot, but wahtever! It is human nature for fisherman to guess high on both weight and length of fish in the water. That doesn’t make them liars, it is just hard to do with all of the excitment and all. If you know how to put pics on here, put these. This one the head is huge on this tiger http://www.baynews9.com/static/articles/images/Tiger_shark_kill.jpg Here is one of a great white’s head. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_iRSvvex4Xvk/SwRfVfFoN4I/AAAAAAAAABw/5ypaRe10isA/s1600/GreatWhite.jpg A good bit narrower on a big shark. Man, how long is this tiger shark? http://www.moolelo.com/shark/sharkboat_big.jpg I hope this answers your question on why I doubt it. Just because I doubt it doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. Strange things have happened before but without a pic we all just have opinions!
rwl i agree with you on some of what your sayin. those tigers in the pics are intense if i had to guess id say they were both around 14 ft . but as you said head shape is key white sharper pointed head tiger rounder blunt head and vivd strips so my question to you know is if either one was swimming around you boat for close to 30 mins dont you think with 35 years under your belt that you would be able tell the diff ? i think so . just my opinion . i have seen the tiger that frequents out there he is long but no were as fat as those beast in the picture . and what would you opinion of jordans talk about the thermoclin if the surface temp is 81 whose to say it not 75 down deeper maybe it was lost who knows hungry ect.
