Whiting Question

I’m headed down to Edisto June 19th through the 24th. I will be surf fishing while the kiddos play in the breakers. Just looking to catch a few whiting to eat one night while we are down there.

I’ve read on some posts that in the summer these fish should be cleaned, filleted and then soaked in buttermilk because of an iodine taste. I’d like to know what you guys think about this? Our usual time for going down in the past has been April to May so I never worried about that before.

Knock the scales off and fillet. Soak in water.

I have never noticed them tasting anything other than delicious. Fry em up as usual!!!
