Anybody have an idea on where to catch some whiting right now. I have a 3 year old fishing junkie who has been asking to go, but I haven’t been out in a while. Any info or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Sandy bottom is the key. Bream hooks work good with the long shank for easier removal. Small pieces of shrimp with shell removed work well. You will probably get hammered by the small sharks but a 3 yr old will love that.
We caught some nice whiting last weekend at various creeks around Broad River. Try the first big creek(don’t know the name) going past(seaward side) Hwy 170 bridge on the right. Also caught some whiting, flounder and trout at a small creek coming out of Daw’s. Interestingly enough that last spot had a really shelly bottom and we didn’t expect to catch flounder there. Go figure.
We have caught a lot of whiting drifting right in front of the Sands in port royal between the marker right at the point and drifting toward parris island…frozen shrimp on the bottom.
Thanks for the replies guys. I will certainly give them a try here soon.
