Are whiting in the surf or around peirs yet?
From what I’ve heard were probably going to have to wait a couple more weeks. Most people say beginning of April is good.

Will agree with al8995. I’m in the surf 2-3 days a week, have not caught any Whiting since maybe early to mid Jan. The surf temp will need to stay above 55deg day and night for them to come back. Folly Beach surfers reported 52 on Sat. IOP was 54 Sun. Still chilly. I still wear my chest waders. The Sting Rays are really thick right now, if you just want to catch something. Caught at least a dozen or so in an hour on Sat.

why are you in the surf 2 days a week if you are only catching stingrays??? especially if you have to wear the waders!?!?

I don’t catch very many from behind the TV…
lol yep, thats why! I miss the water so much that I would be willing to head out even if I didn’t catch anything. Its sad to say I haven’t been fishing since the first week of December and it feels like a year! I’m from PA so we only get a few good months of fishing so I take advantage of my fishing time here lol.

Yeah IOP. Has been very productive for me the past couple seasons. BUT…I will be on Folly this weekend. Wife is out of town, she likes to sit and read, so If there is no beach it’s okay. High tide 7:40am Low1:40pm. I will be near 9th-10th east. Maybe the Whiting will be there? Maybe not? I’m gonna find out.

I’d probably go with, ‘I don’t catch very many from in front of the TV’. Use either way.
