Who Was In the 38LX Fountain at the GTH on 4/25

My mom used to run the Annapolis Powerboat show and she nearly vomits at the sound of reggie fountain. She said the grease coming off of him just smelled bad[:0] She even calls them ego boats. She saw the new CC fishboats at the show and didn’t see the name, but looking at the bow from 2 rows away called it out. She was less than impressed, but she is getting old and would like a 60 bertram so she can go fishing at the jetties, cause she doesn’t want to deal with the waves:smiley: For the record, she doesn’t much like my boat either, I should have gotten a Kevlacat:frowning_face:

Lee, I called you about my previous boat and you were more expensive due to being a small 19’CC and they would add it to my homeowners easily. When I got my new boat and said 300HP, they **** a brick and you guys were $600ish a year cheaper, less deductable, towing compensation, agreed value and no mileage limit.

Tireless, please don’t hold any buyer’s remorse. If I had enough money I might even buy one of those glorified Jet Skis to play on.

As for your email. I was going to respond, but after your last post it looks like you’re getting the hang of the disussion.

You just can’t use terms like: “Sexy As$ boat”, and “sleek, sexy fishing boat” on a fishing forum when referring to Fountain/Donzi/Scarab and not expect to catch some hell.

Does it come with a tank top or is there a mandate in the owners manual the wear one during operation.

My boat’s bigger than your boat

Crackerasscracker - You are so yesterday…you know a tank top would cover up one’s diamond studded nipple rings.

I need to go back to work…it’s been fun laughing with y’all. You have to take the time to laugh at yourself, especially since everybody else is!!!

See you on the water (unless I am in gear then everything tends to blur)! Give me a holler on 68 if you find your way down to the Georgia waters.

Safe seas and tight lines!

David

If things get blurry when you are in gear, you may want to find a better place to store your coke. I hear it burns your eyes…

My boat’s bigger than your boat

cracker, how did you get your name?

Right on!! Glad we could save you some money, SomethinFishey! Thanks for the positive input. $600 savings is certainly nothing to bawk at. As for the homeowners thing–that’s where the rubber usually hits the road, and we take it from there. They drop you if it scares them.

I don’t know when you had the earlier boat, but nowadays, we can ABSOLUTELY BODY SLAM  the premium of ANY homeowners company on small and large boats with the Travelers (A++ rated). (I used that violent expression since I’m a Fountain-owning yahoo, of course). We’re killing State Farm, Allstate, etc. (as well as BoatUS) everyday, even for people who have all their cars and homes and everything with the same company (and getting the multi-policy discount). Plus, we are providing boat-specific policies, with full coverages, rather than homeowners endorsements–BIG DIFFERENCE. Further, the homeowners co’s usually do ACV (which means they depreciate your boat if you have a claim); while we do “Agreed Value”, which means you don’t get cheated come claim time.

I’m glad to have your business. Thanks, and glad to meet you.

Thanks.

From Momma, did you get yours from your pay for gay days?

yes I have a 25’ Fountain (Salt Shaker)and a 30’ topaz (Popeye II). Must say that I love my fountain. It is a great boat for playing and fishing. We do alot of both. The fountain is not as roomy as the topaz but alot faster. Can get to the ledge and back fast. Must say the fountain handles the waves great. Would love to move up to the 34’ soon. The fountain will get into your blood. Have had many other cc in the past and a fountain is my best one.

I have to humbly agree with you, Popeye. They ride awesome. I don’t understand the negative comments, myself. No offense intended guys, but those of you who don’t like the Fountains, have you ever ridden in one (and what size)? Just curious in the interest of discussion–no sarcasm intended. Please don’t blast me.

P.S. Our 34 Fountain is formally for sale. We want the 38LX. Call me if you’re interested. And, if I don’t already insure your boats, we need to talk, bro.

Now you done it Popeye…I can hear the crowd coming for you with picks, shovels, gaffs, stuffed animals, sitting donuts, you name it. God help you!

You guys are relentless…but funny.

I’ve ridden in a '29 and a '31. Both sucked. The seas were barely 2-3 and we slapped on every one of them. By the time we were 5 miles out everyone on board was soaked to the bone. When we slowed down to finally fish we rocked back and forth like we were an empty soda bottle on the surface.

There’s a reason serious fishermen don’t buy them. The fishing public is their secondary market. King Mackeral fishermen buy them so they can cover a lot of ground and catch live bait on tournament days. Charter Capts that fish back to back days avoid them like the plague!

Fountain owners are either new to fishing or are just looking for a go fast thrill ride. Either way, I still say…

CHEEEEEEEEEEZZZZZZZYYYYYYYY!!!

If you can reply tonight I’d be most appreciative. Tomorrow i’ll be out of the office and Thursday through Sunday I’ll be fishing.

Mulletman,

Next time sit in the back and not on the bow. I can not believe you fell for that age old trick!

Safe seas and tight lines!

Tireless. They told me if I hung my legs over the bow I could pretend like I was running on water. They said it would make the ride out go quicker. Were they messing with me? Should I really have sat towards the back?

I’ve been in a 31, not the best ride. Very, Very wet compared to a 31 Contender, which is also a little on the wet side. That thing would haul the mail when it flattened out though.

Even if you are the same price as homeowners, you are much cheaper. Just having agreed value and % based deductibles mean you are ahead of the game. My towing with homeowners was $125…that would cover from the Crab House to Wappoo cut landing…MAYBE.

Good luck on the 38:smiley: If I was spending that kind of jingle I would be looking at a nice Bertram:sunglasses:

Thanks again Somethin-Fishey. I appreciate the kind remarks.

About the boat thing: Dad had two Bertrams when I was younger. We fished them heavily, and loved them both. He also had a 38 Ocean when I was in college. Sportfishers are great for a lot of reasons. We both just really like the Fountain at this point for their speed and simplicity. What can I say? (Other than Yeehaww, Midgie). We both think they ride wonderfully, as does the 70+ year-old man who owns a 34 and told us how wonderful his rode before we bought ours. Maybe the driver makes a difference .

Most importantly, I just can’t give up being able to leave the dock an hour later than the pack, and drop lines before them, and stay an hour later if I want to. The speed is not just for thrills. It lets me drive in daylight, instead of dark, and stay on the fish longer. An hour and 15 minutes to the GTH from Chas has to be compelling.

Plus, the outboards, floating lift, and trailerability make it a simpler, more practical boat for us to own. I’d honestly rather have a 70’ Sportfisher (ohhh baby), but that will probably never happen unless I win the lottery (if I ever play it). Come-ooonn 7!

Take care SF.

Midgie, that is the funniest thing that I have ever heard you say! That was funny as ****. Let's put the ride of the 30' fountain up against the 26' glacier. Who is in?
