Winter run

Hit the beach last weekend just to get out and knock the dust off. Wanted to try out a new reel and do some maintenance and get organized. Knowing it was winter, I didn’t expect to catch a whole lot, and thats what I caught, not a whole lot. A quick 4 hour run yielded not a bite except for one little ray. My bait run was a little more fruitful. I saw fish pushing into a long skinny creek that had a small pot hole at the end of it, that bordered an impoundment. The tide had just turned and started to come in and I could see movement and popping of the water heading my way. Exercised a little patience and waited for the pod to get to the end, where I could hit them with the cast net. Funny how Optiker just posted in the inshore forum about where to find bait this time of the year. They were at the end of a creek just like he said. One cast and had plenty for the day, grabbed a few and the rest were returned to the ocean. Got a puppy pic for ya George, I hope you are doing well, tell Gail I said hello:smiley:

On a side note anyone heard from Mr. Parker, he bun got quiet.

When you see “Old Glory” waving in the breeze, know that it is the dying breaths of our fallen hero’s that makes it wave.

…still here. Between the Job and Honey do’s, been pretty stretch out. The plan, for now at least, is to start back at it the middle part of March. I hope to get back to 3-5 days a week on the beach.

Another great post Pete!

Glad to see bait in the creeks.

Ya know, it must be nice living in Neverneverland. Remind me to come visit you, when I need a break from reality.
