It looks like we have a decent cold front coming through this weekend. So be sure to winterize all your boats if you haven’t already.
I winterize mine by fishing out of it!
But for real, unless you plan on not using the motor all winter, I’m not sure you need to “winterize” a boat in Charleston. You mid-upstate guys probably do with the amount of freezing that occurs! Either way thanks for the heads up and it’s always a good idea to run some stabil or seafoam every other tank or so at least.

Yeah my fishing boats don’t get winterized, but the family with an inboard does get winterized.

Just make sure the motor is trimmed all the way down so all the water runs out of it - in case the temp gets below freezing

It means put a couple extra bottles of booze onboard.

I thought that was something the lawn guys did to the grass.

Its a YANKEE/INBOARD (kind of the same thing) problem.
just trim your outboard down after each use, and drain the water out of any onboard fresh water tanks.

X2 on the rock and rye
Now that’s Grandmaws cold remedy, even my preacher uses it! I just set the electric heater on a thermostat in between the motors in my Bertram. Even with closed cooling it still hold a lot of raw water. Had a water pump damaged a few years ago while at Edisto.
Bertram you say.
I take back all those mean things I said about you.
What do others do with their boats stored in the water on a float? I keep the motor trimmed up to keep it out of the salt. Do you trim it down or just leave it up on these colder nights?
