Would like to try king fishing

Looking for someone who will show me even once or wants company during a king session on folly pier.

I have all my own gear, a trolley anchor on a 12’ surf rod and either a 6/0w senator as a fight rod, or i want to be unique and use my spinfisher 10500v spinner as the fight rod. 600yds of heavy braid, 40lbs of drag, paired on a 5’8 jigging rod.

I more so just want to see how to make the leaders and set the bait once or twice.

there is a pier tournament sat…i’ll be down this weekend…sunday will be a good day…not to crowded.

Get rid of the braid,not good against mono.Don’t want to be ‘that guy’ that cuts off someones king when it runs across the braided line.

Sonny what pound leader do y’all use? The heaviest steel wire I can find is 80lb but I could have swore that Steve told me his was like 200lb? Haha
