Hey anything is possible, as I heard it some of the homeowners were talking about leaving Colleton County for Beaufort County or even Aiken County.
Political Correctness: A doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end!

The Holiday Inn Express was supposed to go on the land surrounding the Old Post Office. Charleston County will rezone anything that makes them more money: so a crappy site that has no marsh or water and a relic carwash BUT has the right zoning won’t sell before something along Store Creek.

Just trying to learn every bit I can about fishing…
It’s true that Edisto has been a cash cow for Colleton since it seceded from Chas. but I wonder if things would be any better for property owners back there or in Bft Co? Boykin knows more about this than me, but somhow…I doubt it.
Y’all don’t worry about that bridge from Edisto to Hunting Isl…it is about as likely to happen as Hitlary being our next president.
FC,
I don’t think Hitlary will win either, but stranger things have happened (Lord forbid).

You gotta love the South Carolina Lowcountry.
I lived in Beaufort for 10 years and it comes no where close to Edisto. I like Edisto just the way it is. I hope there are no new bridges or piers. I live in Viginia now and have travled most of the U.S. and Edisto is one of my top 3!
Well, since the new owners of the pavillion are “great” friends with the locals of edisto and an “even greater” fan of scot flowers’, i dont see much with a pier in the near future. and also, how many rumors has there been about hotel this and hotel that…remember, we have bobo on the battle front.

For an update - was down a couple weeks ago. Work still being done to the pier building. Still some problem with parking area on the St Park side. Appears Flowers gave up there and moved into the old Variety Seafood place. Were open as “Waterfront Rest” on the 13th over on Jungle Rd.

Story I heard 2 weeks ago was that Scott got screwed by the new owners and everyone in the know is mad.
Personally, I don’t want to see an Iowa owned pier on Edisto. That is the rumor. Iowa money and Columbia buyer.
I have spent most of my life fishing.
The rest has been wasted.
ruvidu you a correct about what happened with scott and a lot of people being pissed
If it is Iowa money maybe they will make the pier out of Iowa Corn!![:0]Oh well maybe not:sunglasses:
wahoofan
Someone correct me if I’m wrong but I believe the new owners of the pavilion building and what would be the pier are from gilbert, sc.
Wherever they’re from, they have really pissed of the locals. I don’t believe I’ll be doing any business there.
what happened with scott?
First off, I am not a local but I do talk to several when there. I was told that Scott had a handshake deal to take over The Pavillion and open his resturant there. His wife quit work and they had folks lined up to got work and the new owner renigged on them. Scott then took over the Variety and opened his place there. I think it opened on the 15th of this month. The Pavillion is going to be buffett now. If all of this is true I will not go on the pier if they build it and sure won’t be eating there. Up here in the Upstate we still believe in the handshake. Yep, everyone that told me this story is pissed. If it is not true I would like to know.
As the song says “See You In September”.

ruvidu the part about Scott and Susan getting the raw end of the deal on a handshake agreement is true but the pavilion is still going to be a full restaurant, seperate bar (where coots use to be), gift shop and a game room for kids. The peir isnt a sure thing yet personally i wouldnt mind if it happened. there was a town metting concerning the pier the other night. the usual people that complain about anything new comming to edisto were putting on there usual act but it went well for the most part
This would be him
that looks like the second bend at jeremy inlet. pretty dog.
Thats actually mud creek. Its hard to tell though with the tide being so low and the boat up against the bank. That treeline in the background is the neck
