The Town approved the pier a few years ago, but it hasn’t been built yet. Wonder if it will ever happen?
What Edisto needs is a Walmart, a McDonalds and a home depot. That will really spice things up. That whole, keep Edisto like it was, is nuts. While at it, we should put up a couple cell towers. That way all of the foreigners that will come in can have 4G service. That will really make Edisto perfect.

Correct me if I’m wrong but won’t the pier be on the ocean front if built? If that is correct then it would be hard as he-- to tie up a cassino boat with all the wave action I’ve seen rolling in there.Go to Edisto once in awhile to work on somethin and enjoy the peacefulness of the area. Like to sit at waters edge and watch the waves while eating lunch or just takin a break.

I dont think a pier would change the character of Edisto very much. While I am neither for or against building a pier, I never believed it would be built because it would be a foolish business venture. What we really need is a good place to shag dance.

Try Shaggin’ @ Whaley’s, they have good food also. Don’t go near the Dockside, Boochie leased it out and the new guy took out the salad bar, changed the fish stew recipe, and generally screwed it up. Last i heard Boochie was working for the folks who own the Pavilion. My big question is what happened to the public dock @ Mr. Bell’s old place. City probably just wanted the property to sell later.

There is a fishing dock built by the Town of Edisto Beach at Bay Creek Park located next to the Marina (old Bell property)
The Town has a nice park at the old Bell property. It has a fishing dock, large grassy area, picnic tables, benches, and a Open air market every Wednesday that features local artists as well as other items.
I want to get a fried oyster basket with onion rings on Big Bay Creek for lunch any day of the week!
