Yamaha repower

Looking to repower my 2002 keywest 1900 CC. Any recommendations as to how has the best deal? I currently have a tired 125 mercury 2 stroke. Will need rigging, controls and possibly new gauges. Thinking new 20" shaft f115, as the weight is closest to my current motor. Thanks Big Red.

Have you looked at Iboats.com

I have not. Would rather deal with a local shop.

Charleston Marine…

SAFMC you suck!

Ok, 1 for Charleston Marine. I’ve delt with them before, It was a good experience for service for another motor I had.

Got a quote for a 115 E-Tech. Same price as yamaha f115. Any opinions about the E-Tech? I like the 8 year warranty…

Love my 250, Its now 6 years old and over 1,000 hrs Great motor, Will run on any cheap gas, no trouble whatsoever!

Thanks boatpoor. I’m leaning towards the E-tec.

Go yamaha and you will never regret it!

Screw that 8 year warranty, when you need it, you will probably be in a bad situation and wishing…

NN

If you had bought it in march you could of had a 10 year warranty! I know any warranty is only as good a the dealer!

I bought a new Yamaha from Chris V many years ago, Best deal I could find, and excellent service!

Second Charleston Marine

115 Hp enough for that boat???

I would think 130 - 150 would be perfect.

You'd still deal with a local shop, you'd just not have to pay sales tax. For around $240 freight they'll ship out of FL to the shop of your choice, where you can have your pre-warranty checklist done to validate and activate the factory warranty. I have not bought from iboat but talked to them about it and sounded good to me.

It ain’t no mystery…this beer’s history!

BLUERUNNER
YOU WILL STILL HAVE TO PAY STATE SALES TAX WHEN YOU GO TO REGISTER THE MOTOR.
SCDNR REQUIRES PROOF THAT THE SALES TAX HAS BEEN PAID.

ELROHO
IF YOU LOVE THE BOAT AND PLAN ON KEEPING IT FOR AT LEAST 5 YEARS, THEN BY ALL MEANS, SPEND THE MONEY AND PUT ON A NEW MOTOR.
IF NOT, I WOULD NOT SPEND THE MONEY. YOU WILL LOSE MONEY.
ALSO, WE CURRRENTLY HAVE AN AWESOME 2007 YAMAHA 150VMAX 2 STROKE 20" $5.5K

IF I RESPOND IN ALL CAPS, ITS NOT ON PURPOSE, AND I AM NOT YELLING

That is a sharp looking motor!

No way around sales tax these days! Bought mine in Ga and when I had it regerstered I had to pay 6%.

I have several friends that have them and its the worst purchase they ever made. I you purchase an E-Tech you will need all of the 8 year warranty .

Go see what 75 % of the boats run in gulf coast Ala. They ain’t yams or mercs painted white!

I have had an E- Tec…weird SOB. It did fine for the amount of time I had it for the most part, but there are a lot of things that need to happen for them to run properly. Dealers in the area are a major consideration for me when / if I have to get a motor. Trust me on this.
