YETI...Finally!

I have been saving for YEARS! Just enough to get my long awaited YETI bait cooler. Now I should be able to keep my bait for a week!

NICE!!!

Trade you some fishing gear for it. I’d have to liquidate anyway to be able to buy one.

Ha!!! I wouldn’t trade it for a 10’ GLoomis lmx with an 8000 Stella…well…maybe…with a little coin thrown in. :stuck_out_tongue:

Bought a Igloo Yeti knock off last week at Sams for lees than $200 and am well satisified. Its heavy tho and tried to load on my boat on the tra and dropped it on the pavement from 5’ and not a scrach!

Bought that same cooler 2 years ago. It is better than a Yeti IMO…

How well have the handles held up on the igloo?

I love my Yeti’s. I have a 65 qt. mounted on sliding rails under my leaning post, and I have a 20 qt. in the back of my Yukon. I just bought 2 Yeti Rambler 30 oz. cups, and they are fantastic! Everything they say they are, and they are way cool to rub people’s noses in gear envy. Get over it people, there are BMW’s and Porsche’s all over the roads too. I constantly see posts talking trash about higher priced gear. What the F!? It’s sad.

I’ve had the Igloo Sportsman 55 cooler from Sams for about a year now and the handles have held up well. That being said, I still prefer the feel of the rope handles on the Yeti (my buddy has a Yeti 65 - the exact same size as the Igloo Sportsman 55). It’s not worth paying literally double the price of the cooler for, though.

I was going to say something similar bossdog. Being too cool for a yeti is getting to be an outdated trend on its own.

I own a BMW…it is an excellent SUV. Worth every dime. I was not “trashing” high priced gear or YETI coolers. And definitely no envy here, to each his own. I was given a very nice YETI tumbler, it came with a sticker. I figured the best spot for it was on my 20+ year old IGLOO cooler that has spent countless days in the hot sun, salt and sand, has been blown out of boats and trucks. It might be a bit dirty but still works great. For me, if I had $300-$500 to spend, it would not be on coolers…or rods and reels for that matter, got to many of those already. Maybe I would get me one of those fancy record players…Costas?..yeah maybe a nice pair of those…always wanted me some of those right there.

My wife thought it was funny  sheesh…so sensitive.

I got a kick out of it. Not envious, well maybe a little bit. They make a great product, and definitely know how to market it. Hell I just saw the other day that they make their own brand rod holders for their coolers. Genius!!! I won’t personally spend that much on a cooler, but maybe the wife will buy me one, one day. Yall can pick on me if you’d like. I wear a salt life hat, Guy Harvey shirts, and Costa’s.

I have one, still think they are over-priced but to each his own. I thought the post was funny.

I’ve seen that a lot on here too. God forbid someone talk about their gear if it costs more than the average guy’s gear. Then they’re quick to tell you how their cheaper gear is just as good as the “over priced” or “over rated” gear.

Admittedly, I was one of those people that used to talk trash about people who spent Yeti money on a cooler…then I won one at a DU banquet. I did everything I could to prove “my cheaper gear was just as good as your over priced gear” but I couldn’t. I now own several Yetis for all sorts of occasions and I wouldn’t trade them for 100 of any other type of cooler on the market.

While this mentality makes me shake my head, one that’s even more perplexing is the crowd on here that lambastes people with Yeti stickers or any other type of “popular” product sticker on their vehicles. Granted, the only sticker on my truck is a McClellanville boat ramp sticker, but what’s the big deal is someone wants to put stickers on THEIR vehicles.

Earn it everyday

Obviously the “value” of a cooler, just like anything else, is completely subjective… Was your cell phone over priced before your wife’s car broke down? My yeti has easily paid for itself in the three years I’ve had it. I work in the heat everyday and my twice handed down igloo bait cooler couldn’t handle the amount of fluids I need on a daily basis and at $2.50 a bag for ice neither could I… If you sit in the A/C all day and buy a $300 yeti only for bait, well then it probably is “over priced”… I love my granfathers old igloo, it functions perfectly as a bait cooler, especially if I’m using frozen bait that I need to thaw… There really isn’t a debate when it comes to quality or function, IMO…

My wife bought me a Yeti tumbler for Fathers Day and it is amazing! That dang cup will hold ice for 2 days!

The only thing I hate about my cheap cooler is that it’s not bear proof like a Yeti. I really wish my cooler had that feature because I worry about that alot.

If you depend on the gear than buy the best. If it is a luxury than you can spend a little less and be satisfied… if you can afford it than don’t be ashamed to buy the best… just be happy and take care of what you can get, nobody really needs to prove anything…
