You Guys Ever Seen One Of These?

I was going to title this ‘Check Out My Johnson’ or ‘Anyone Else Have A Small Johnson’ or even ‘Look At This Little Johnson’ but I don’t want the Pod reporting me to Admin, or pickin on my Johnson haha.

But for real, check this thing out! I have been moving around a lot of stuff preparing for some renovations that are about to occur at my house and I found this toy motor I grabbed from my Dad’s when he passed 6+ yrs ago. It’s from the mid 50’s. I saw one on the eBay for 160-199$. This one is not for sale, I just wanted to show off my Johnson. Wish it worked but I put a 9 volt battery to it and 12vdc and nothing. Still a pretty cool mantle or dresser piece. Anyone else have one or seen one?

That is a Very Nice collectors piece their !!

Does the cowling come off:question: I’d like to see the inside!

Looks like it takes either 2 or 4 flashlight batteries together in series to give you 3 or 6 volts.

Leadenwah…Thanks…LOL

180, thanks man, I will probably never let this thing go.

Easy, yea it opens, and it does have a wound motor on the inside, I’ll take a couple pics this afternoon when I get home. It may be possible that it can be rewound, I’m not sure.

LongEnuff, the prop spins free before I tried putting power to it but I’m not sure how its connected to the shaft, either splines and gears or maybe even magnetic, I have no idea. “AA” batteries have 1.5 vdc so 2 or 4 would give you the 3 or 6vdc respectively. I’ll try again but I doubt it’s going to work.

“To maintain maximum efficiency from your miniature johnson” - sounds like advice some folks could use here.

dammit

I’d recommend running it in warm water only. That Johnson is small enough as it is.

LOL @ Flicker…nice one!

I wonder what they were even used on…I could turn it around in the glass and make a nice mixed drink I reckon lol

You just can’t make this stuff up

Dang! They don’t make electronic toys like that anymore!

I had a Johnson… years ago.

I had one as a kid. It was on a little miniature boat that I ran around in the bathtub, I think.

You have the smallest Johnson I have ever seen. Too bad it doesn’t work.

Funniest post in awhile!

That’s a neat conversation piece StumpNocker. Would be a pretty cool mixed drink stirrer…

thats the best looking old little johnson ive ever seen…

but on a serious note, those coils dont look so great. I have some leftover wire from winding a ice maker motor a few months ago. if it’s the same gauge, ill rewind it for you. i would be honored to get your little johnson running again.
