Hello everyone,
It is tough to start this report as I can?t decide where to begin. Requiem Fishing landed a total of 8 sharks this week. We are now at 23 over 5? for 2014 as a team. So I guess let me just get to it. I hope you enjoy. If you strictly only want to see the images go to http://requiemfishing.tumblr.com/.
Saturday April 26th
Richard went out to surf fish alone after hearing that the sharks may be in. I don?t have a lot to report for that day as I was not there, but he managed to land his 1st black tip, and 2nd shark over 5? ever. A nice 68? tipper on spinning gear. First black tip in Charleston that we were aware of and we watch every outlet like a hawk! This also ignited us to start fishing in Charleston again.
Sunday April 27th
Richard and Jacob go back to the same spot and get another black tip on spinning gear. Another big one! 71? which was the biggest as a team for Requiem in South Carolina to this point.

We were approached to host a land based charter for some guys who don?t like boats. So Blanding, Spencer and myself took them out and caught a variety of fish in a semi-new spot. Being that Mahi heads were all that we had available to start, we were nervous about how successful we would be. Luckily bait was in the surf. We picked up some whiting, a puffer, a sharpnose, and a 4? black tip to start off the charter. We released the black tip and were happy we at least got them a bigger shark than what they had ever got before.
As the sun went down we got a hit on Blanding?s rod and it seemed to just pick the bait up and swim away. No hard run at all. We ruled out black tip, but thought maybe it was a lemon shark. After 15 minutes the client brought it into the surf and we were surprised by a nice 87? sand tiger! It
That’s the photo Stan received, much like the one he set us Saturday only this time it was a 9ft shark on the other side not a crab pot!
all in good fun, good work Stan and everyone else that fished this weekend!

How much you reckon that tiger weighed?
I looked it up for Stan, By the length/length and length/weight chart 750-800# its a fatty so i’m going with 800#

How are you accessing that stretch of beach Stan??? I have been thinking about that exact spot for a long time and have actually been fishing right near there for years. Always thought it would be a great tarpon spot in August or sept. PM me.
awesome read and great fish. Congrats. Seems like you guys really take care to try and release the fish healthy, nice job.
I had a cool experience (although not sure how cool it was at the time) with about a 14 foot tiger in the Bahamas when I was bonefishing. Tiger sharks are beautiful fish.

Great job Stan! I said you wouldn’t get a tiger from the beach and I stand corrected already! That was fast and a monster at that! If you caught that thing anywhere else you would’ve made the news with that one.
If we had great pictures and I chose to submit them to certain places we would be. However with the negative spin coming from all the hammer catches in FL recently, I will sit this one out. I don’t want anyone to try and make it illegal to catch them here as well

Heard that Stan, keep it all between us folks, don’t need the news freaking out. Then again, maybe I will start a shark rumor to get all these tourists from Ohio and Jersey out of here.
So Stan I guess the big sharks at folly are real… Just saw a 10+ foot hammer head circling the folly pier! Too bad we didn’t have bait in the water…
