ACC favors new rules for title game

So ACC would say sorry Duke, but we think Clemson is better than you. So they will play in the acc champ game.
How long before duke takes their basketball money to another conference.

Duke would never consider leaving the ACC.

Schools leave a conferance because they either cant compete or get a better offer. Duke wont get a better offer.

No offense, but Clemson wasn’t in the same league as FSU this year. If the rules for 2014 applied to the 2013 season, I think the title game matchup would be the same. At that point in the season, Duke and FSU were the best teams.

No one wants to see a rematch of that game, espeically Clemson.

C’mon Ricky you are usually pretty on point but you really think Duke was better than Clemson last year?

I’m not saying Duke was better. I’m saying at that point in the season, they deserved to go to the championship game over Clemson. After Clemson’s performance against FSU, the Tigers didn’t deserve to go. If it was a close game, that would have been a different story… But it was no where close.

As they say, bad facts make bad laws right? If you keep divisions, the two winners should play in the title game.

What if one division is very deep and balanced, while other team has two good teams a bunch of jokers. Surely the two teams that happen to be the easy division don’t get to play each other for the conference title and completely shut out the other division?

This change to the rules sounds favorable to Clemson based on this year’s results, but don’t be shortsighted – with Louisville coming to the conference, it’s not inconceivable that the Atlantic division has a bunch of two-loss teams while two of GaTech, VaTech, Duke, or UNC manage to only have one loss by having an easy schedule.

So you are ok with the conference deciding who will be in the champ game?
Not results on the field?
For you Clemson fans. If you win your conference division, the ACC can decide that FSU is better than you. And let them play in the championship game. So why play the games? just have the ACC decide who the champ is too

Mixed feelings because it’s not really fair.

But one team is like 8-4 and not ranked and the 2nd best team is in the same division as the first and both are highly ranked then understand why they would do this. The last two years the ACCCG had been a joke because the coastal is dog****. It’s all about money, attendance and ratings these days … And you can’t get those when a 11-1 or undefeated fsu is playing duke or an 8-4 unc team.

If va tech or Miami would get their sheit right this would not be an issue.

but then you might lose your bcs tie in…wait

Not much diff than getting to the O-Bowl,results on the field had nothing to do with that.

I don’t understand what you saying, cape?

After 100+ years, no quality championships, no national championships, no quality bowl wins, no quality bowl invites has to sting. Its enough to make one try to validate a program by bashing the opponents. LOL!

Quality, really.
Who is bashing anyone?

If one might be bold enough to point out the obvious he should not assume that the obvious would be well received…

Oh how it stings.

Is there a manual to understand the cow farmer lingo? Or maybe a de-coder cattle prod?

that was classic.

Sounds easy to say ‘let the two best teams play for the championship’. Two best according to who, or what yard stick? Isn’t that one of the reasons the BCS is no more? Records are meaningless if you don’t play the same teams, ratings are meaningless unless measured by the same criteria, who you beat may be irrelevant, too (just look where UNC basketball is ranked today). Here’s a thought, maybe Clempson should take their show on the road since they can’t seem to get any justice from the ACC …

If you want to play for the conferance championship, win your division.
