ACC had and agenda

Regardless…let’s move on and talk about the 31st. Not sure who you’ll be playing in men’s/women’s basketball, but we have a tough one with Oklahoma in football.

“Living’s mostly wasting time and I’ll waste my share of mine”

Yet the gamecocks will be talked about more over the next month.
Nice try Elly Mae.

Down here is where a signature goes but they can confuse and anger some people so I don’t have one.

Listened to ESPN radio this morning. Mike and Mike said this was the same ACC officiating crew that blew the Miami vs Duke game. The one with all the laterals, blocks in the back and player being down. What the pluck were they at the ACC championship game for?

Key West 1720 115 HP Johnson Saltwater.

That crew needs to be gone. Maybe it’s just the better camera shots on TV vs actually being there and trying to keep up in real time, but dammm there were bad calls and missed calls.

At least they got the chance to attempt one.

If the offsides wasn’t called this missed targeting would have forced a rekick anyway. The face that UNC was lined up wrong also would have caused a rekick. Only difference is that UNC would be missing a player for their bowl game if the targeting had been called.

how were they lined up wrong? And don't say they only had 4 players up top. I've seen the picture being circulated by tiger fans but I also have seen the video of the play that shoes there were 5

Have never seen you cry like this before, wow.

I’d be thinking about saving up some energy for the dark, gloomy Muschamp era that awaits you and your fellow chickens.

Ya’ll know I’m a die hard UNC fan …so here’s my take - I think the last call was missed and it would’ve been nice to get a shot at scoring because despite what some on here have said, I can assure you that we have the talent to go 50 yards in a minute with 3 timeouts and I don’t care how motivated Clemson’s defense was…but yes, a lot would have to go right to have tied the game. But IMO we lost this game in the first quarter when we our very experienced QB missed/overthrew multiple open receivers, some were WIDE open with no one within 10 yards waving their arms frantically at him and he never saw them.

I had a nice bird’s eye view from section 544 and was watching the conversations on the sidelines and it was apparent that the receivers were frustrated that they were not getting the ball.
Credit Clemson’s front line with Marquise’s troubles - he just didn’t have time and was running for his life several times. Unfortunately, Marquise has a tough time mentally in Charlotte with throwing picks in the red zone and he did it yet again on a first down on a promising drive. Notice the one time our backup (Mitch Trubisky) came in, he executed on a 3rd and long…all Trubisky does is throw TD’s and execute on plays. Keep your eyes open for him next year - he’s going to be really good. Better arm speed and accuracy - and better game smarts.

Defensively - we couldn’t keep Clemson to field goals in the red zone. Our defense was being asked to do too much…they were on the field way too long, but I would put our defensive corners MJ Stewart and DEs Lawrence up against anybody’s - they are the real deal and will make a lot of money in the NFL soon. But, Clemson is number one for a reason -they have an incredible QB and they find a way to win games.

As for UNC, we have plenty of talent and a coach that just signed on for 7 years - I believe there are some good times ahead, but hey we lost this game. No excuses. They’ll need to flip the switch and concentrate on the bowl game with Baylor now and let

No that 4 people on each side was just a deceptive picture, they had 4. However you are not allowed to have guys lined up less than 9 yards from the sidelines. There is a ma

Wrong on that as well. the ACC released a statement that said one of the refs saw someone cross the plain before the kick. Since it isn’t review-able, they couldn’t go to instant replay to confirm so they stuck with the call.

However, they did miss a targeting call that would have resulted in a re kick as well, so it’s all moot.

They got the off-sides call wrong. But they also got the targeting call wrong. Not to mention the hit on DW4 should have been targeting as well. Lots of blown calls on both sides in that game. Nobody took anything away UNC.

Well, he is technically right, no matter what the official statement was. Here is the entire section of the 2015 NCAA free kick section. I highlighted the rule. I guess if that was their official statement, then it is just another foul they missed on that play.

SECTION 1. Free Kicks
Restraining Lines
ARTICLE 1. For any free kick formation, the kicking team’s restraining line
shall be the yard line through the most forward point from which the ball shall
be kicked, and the receiving team’s restraining line shall be the yard line 10
yards beyond that point. Unless relocated by a penalty, the kicking team’s
restraining line on a kickoff shall be its 35-yard line, and for a free kick after a
safety, its 20-yard line.
Free Kick Formation
ARTICLE 2. a. A ball from a free kick formation must be kicked legally and
from some point on Team A’s restraining line (Exception: Rule 6-1-2-c-4) and
on or between the hash marks. The referee will declare the ball ready for play
when the officials are in position after the kicker has received the ball. After
the ball is ready for play and for any reason falls from the tee, Te

Have never see

I like to think I follow college football fairly closely and I have never seen the 9yard rule until yesterday morning. Have never seen it called on the field and am curious if anyone else has ever seen that call made?

I can’t recall it either. It may have been called but not explained like this one. Some are saying that the officials said they did see someone cross the line, but who knows what to believe when it comes from the internet!! All I know is that the 9 yard thing is a rule and it was clear that a UNC player was beyond it. The ref immediately threw the flag when UNC crossed the line of restraint so he saw something!

I’ve herd* at least 3 different things about the play, offsides, 9yard rule, and not enough players on one side of the kicker. At the end of the day though, See you in Miami.

Down here is where a signature goes but they can confuse and anger some people so I don’t have one.

The 9 yard rule infraction is false as well. You just have to be lined up between the hashes when the whistle is blown, then you can go outside. That’s why you see so many teams huddle together between the numbers until the ball is spotted, then they run out to their positions.

Edit: Looking at the picture Shevy posted, it looks like they were lined up already before the ref placed the ball. If they would have moved in, then back out after the spot, then it wouldn’t be illegal.

However, they would have thrown the flag before the kick for illegal formation. They missed that call as well, and called a phantom off sides penalty. Lots of mistakes in this one. Time to stop splitting hairs and move on to the playoffs.

He didn’t lead with his head, he led with his shoulder.

Sorry, I don’t think what he leads with is pertinent, it’s what he hits. And when there’s head to head, as was obvious, it’s targeting. That call gets made every time when every eye in the building is on it …

Blatant targeting NOT CALLED. Scary stuff…
