I would be happy to root you some cuttings off of ours. This one started from a cutting, which came from a cutting off another, which came from another. Not sure exactly where the parent tree came from, but it’s well over 100 years old.
Strange, yalls figs are ripe and 100 miles north of us. Our figs are still 2 weeks from getting ripe.

Mrs. Cracker reminded me where our fig trees came from. Her dad took a few cuttings when nobody was looking from a tree at Fort Pulaski in Savannah. It was planted before the civil war and is still there. He planted the cuttings when she was a kid. When we got married and bought our first house, he gave us some cuttings from his trees and we grew some fine figs for a long time. Sold that house, but we took cuttings from our trees and planted them here 20 years ago. This tree’s bloodline pre-dates the war of northern aggression.
