Hate to hear it Larry , Can’t relate to how it feels but witnessed it daily with my wife as she suffered the pain in tears, when the only relief she could get was on her knees while folded over a foot stool
for support . Four anchor bolts/screws , two titanium rods and one
wire cage full of ground bone removed from other areas and a recovery
period she’s good for another 100,000 miles… Wishes she had bit the bullet years ago before it got that bad !! Hoping “praying” the best for you!!!Good luck…

Thank you George, but it is what it is, I reckon. If I’d known I was going to live this long I would have taken better care of myself.

You better believe it! And in this heat, ugh, it’s nasty work [:0] Been there, got the T-shirts. He’s got it whipped now though, the worst is over.

Well wouldn’t you know it, my luck strikes again.
Having troubles finding my colors in awlcraft…seems they’re not a “mix on site” type, so it has to be on someone’s shelf somewhere. There goes the schedule!!!

Man that looks really good
leadenwah, she’s looking good. If waiting on paint is your worst problem, you’re in good shape. Schedule may slip, but, the project’s on tract. Can’t to see her wet.
Cracker, hang in there with the back. Had 2 cervical disks fused almost 5 years ago. Went from constant pain and limited range of motion in the neck to nearly completely fixed - 2 titanium plates and bone graphs (sp?). I woke up from the anesthesia puking, but didn’t care. Even through the fog of anesthesia and the puking, I was immediately aware that I was relieved of pain in my shoulders, arms, and hands that I didn’t even know was there - had gotten used to it. I think I had one or two really sharp shots down the right arm and into my hand during the few months after surgery as things healed up. Since then, while I still have a 50+ year old back, I’m good.
Everyone’s situation is different. I hope you meet with the same success I did. A new lease. Stronger now than I was 20 years ago. Like Gail wins said about his wife, I should have gone under the knife sooner. I probably spent a year trying to physical therapy my way away from the surgeon. 'Was a mistake. I did get years of relief from physical therapy, but, the last year was a waste of time, money, and pain.

I am truly amazed at the progress you have made! Great work!! The heat at my place has been “H” this summer and put all my projects on hold. Turning 70 haven’t helped a lot either. Larry sorry to hear about your back! My back surgery was the best thing I ever did, only time I ever hugged a man, My Dr. Good luck.

No kidding! Sounds like a good excuse to take a break to me I don’t know how you’ve done as much as you have in this heat. You must be young
Appreciate all the well wishes guys, I really do. Spent all afternoon in an MRI machine with my wife driving it [:0] She’s been doing it about 35 years though, and she’s seen me nekid before Weird being inside that tube, not being able to move for so long. Glad I don’t have claustrophobia. I just close my eyes and think about the ocean. They scanned me from brain to Ahole. Got to wait now for the Docs to read them. Probably won’t know anything until Monday soonest.

Gail…I’d love to, but to be honest, this boat will bring me back into the fish I hope. My marriage, the birth of my first child, and lack of a boat, have brought me to recently being a strictly freshwater fisherman, other than offshore trips and random invites from friends/family.
I hope to use this boat to bring me back to my roots. I grew up in Rockville with a jon boat, fishing everywhere for everything from the old age of 10 years old all by myself. After school life changed for me…girls and drinks were the challenge, fishing was easy! Then I moved away…and the easy water was freshwater. I learned to fish freshwater, and have since have moved back and have the opportunity to get back to my roots…I’m excited to say the least.
I can’t wait to make this thing reality and finally get it slimy…

Hull is PRIMED! 400 sand tomorrow and laying color down Friday morning! I do regret not spending another day or two and nitpicking the keel area in the stern, some spots that are gonna bug me, but I don’t think the fish will mind…
Also, I waxed the cord on the steering wheel. It made a terrible mess, but it cleaned up easily off the granite with a razor knife (as I expected. But hard to convince the wifey). I put some pure beeswax in a small pot. Placed that pot in another pot of water and brought temp up. Then I ladled the wax out as it melted and put it all over the wheel/cord. It was disgusting and seemed like I would never get the excess off (they said to brush it off with stiff brush) but I pressed on. When it was all coated I had a big nasty messy waxy wheel and didn’t know what to do…then it hit me!
It wasn’t going all the way in the cord because it was cooling off too fast. So I put the whole wheel in the oven and brought it up slowly. As it came up to temp, wax got liquid again, and all soaked right into the cord. Now…it really is perfect. It tightened up the chord, made it soft and supple, and it feels good on the hands. Should keep the fish guts and beer from ruining the cord too!

Looking very good bud! I’m now thinking that my wheel needs that treatment.
Speaking as someone who has “rebuilt” a boat to their liking, you will love taking it out, showing it to buddies, etc even more!
