cant wait til they get back in the salt

The gunboat is suppose to run you off everytime, but it just depends on a day to day basis. Sometimes, you can “sneak” up in the creek and then ease back out, but ultimately you should get run off from the mouth of GC. It is still worth a “shot”.
And, Willy, again, thanks.I got lucky I believe, but at least at stumbled onto something.I, too, work 4 on 4 off with 12 hr. shifts of swingshift.I’m always looking for someone to go with me or fish with, so keep it in your mind. I’m a member of Hess and live right off North Rhett. Tightlines to all, even the Murray guy:wink:.

this site has gone from bad to worse for lack of any other desciptive way to put it.you guys have lost so many good fishermen from all the negativity on here.a guy is good at catching fish and he posts on here, you hear every possible remark-wheres the pictures?
where did you catch that many if you caught that many?then if you tell them that, some other jackoff reams you for telling people your “secret” spots.sometimes you meet people halfway by giving them a spot where you have caught fish, maybe not the best place, but a surefire place, and they question that.no matter what you put on here it gets questioned.the sad thing is i can say i learned from some on here-aMAZINGLY there are a few left on here who share valuable info.
there is just so many more people on here for nothing more than negative posts.i really was leaving this site this time until so many emailed me once again asking me to keep posting,or reporting to me that my tactics, spots, etc. are working for them.i guess with some people you can lead a horse to water, but you cant make them drink.if and when i get another digital cam that i can take with me-ill post pics if and when i want, not because some jackoff questions my integrity.again thanks to all who emailed in the last week.

kloudking, hopefully you don’t do to good. You will be accused of lying. This is ridiculous. I have always enjoyed Willy’s posts. Not knowing anything about surf fishing I learned from him when he was scsurfman. And went to the beach and caught some fish. Why is it so hard to believe someone is that much better than you? When I first started steelhead fishing in PA I thought three fish was a great day. Now I can catch 20 or 30 steelhead on good days when I get back there to fish. It is called experience. Willy, if you are ever in Columbia you are welcome in my boat, it almost always floats.

Also, how to catch them is a more important question than where.

hey willy. do not let these goobers bother you. remember; one turd does not fill a comode. i just came up with that. now that i did i think that i will claim it as mine. yeh; that’s the ticket. anyway; the most of us use this site for information;joking; having a good time; goofing off and just general conversation. as a matter of fact i called steelytom this afternoon to find out when we can enjoy another outing of beer drinking (i mean striper fishing on lake murray)
as i said; do not let these guys such as murrayfisherman get under your skin. just consider the source.
by the way; have you seen any pictures that he has posted?? also i will give out the information on where i caought my stripers.
I CAUGHT THEM MAINLY IN THE MOUTH. THANK YOU. I WILL BE HERE ALL WEEK.

Where are ya’ll fishin’? I could be there in my 'yak and ya’ll could swamp me if that would make ya’ll feel better.Just throw me one of those beers on your way by!..I don’t wan’t to step on a comedians toe…but…how about adding an extra “p” to “striper” and roll with that…stripper on my mouth…or something like that?

if you read back a few pages you will see that i do practice cpr with the riverenes.we have never kept more than 1 out of the combahee at the end of the year.that was kind of a end of the season dinner for me and the friend.over the years up north surf fishing i must confess we kept more than a few back in the day.i prefer flounder or trout for eatin fish these days.it is very important to practice cpr with the riverenes.

willy,

I am gonna take my Dad and Brother up the C this weekend between the old railroad bed and the steel bridge. Any more info than you have already passed would be greatly appreciated.

We have made an annual trip to the Outer Banks for the last few years but my weekends stateside are limited these days and 2 days of travel doesn’t make sense when we can wrestle a sow locally.

thanks again for all your info.

feetwet,
That’s where my dad and I fished at today. Got a couple of good hits but missed them. Did catch a couple of nice blue-cats though. I bought me one of those keep-alive bait-wells and brought some herring down from Columbia. It kept all of them alive and lively all day! Anyway got to the landing and the battery didn’t have enough juice to start my direct injected outboard so had to pull the boat back out and charge the battery awhile with jumper cables. Hmm… brand new battery and I started the motor up just the other day! Direct Injected motors won’t start with a weak battery and you can’t rope start them either. Finally got on the water and went to secret spot #1 ( in which you pass about three creeks on the left heading south and there is a flooded rice field on the left just before you get to some old pilings along the bank about a mile from the steel bridge. Where the water flows out of the field there is a log across the opening or some sort of old dam, anyway fish up next to the log-dam with mullet and hold on. ) Anyway I didn’t get the boat in a good position and my super-hooker anchor got hung up under some debris. We tried everything to get the anchor loose and finally had to cut the rope. Well we went up to the bridge and tied off since we didn’t have an anchor, but couldn’t get in the spot I like to fish. The catfish kept the day from being a bust. It was nice just to get out and away from my home re-modelling job for awhile. Next time I’ll carry a reef anchor. I’m gonna check out those cajun anchors also. I might try them again this weekend.

youre fishing the right area kloud, youll get em.this cold might be pushing em more into the salt, who knows.right before this cold front they were there.i have caught em around those pilings before myself.if you go just a little farther than you did,you will see a even better spot…you cant miss it.try the mullet there.make sure you use big pieces or big finger mullet.

Thanks willy,
I didn’t get to hit all of my favorite spots because of the anchor problem, but hopefully I’ll get to try it again soon.
