A few years back, 6 or so, I was headed home from Charlotte on a Thursday evening during the summer…
Just south of the Rock Hill speed trap, while doing 78, a young girl passed me in a white Ford pickup like I was standing still…
I pulled out and followed her to Columbia at a constant 103 mph…
It was exhillarating…
And yes, stupid.
It’s to bad his brother wasn’t in the car with him, they could have gotten out of the car and gone back to the cop car and then the cop would have ended up being fired. Or something like that,

Yup, between Rock Hill and Columbia is like the Autobahn, or used to be. I got behind an Escalade a few years back and found out my 2001 GMC pickup had a limiter or governor, or something. At 98-99 the engine would seem to drop cylinders, couldn’t go any faster.
My BMW is chip limited to 116 mph. Stupid to do that on public roads though.
Last trip to NC a couple of weeks ago, there were about a dozen cops nailing speeders. Mixed bag between SC Troopers and Fairfield County Sherrif. There were 2 guys shooting radar from the center span and a ton of chase cars lined up on the ramps

Fritz, go for an aftermarket pressure cap and watch your mileage. One of 2 things is going on; the odometer CEL trigger or the face seal on the gas cap. You can pick up a code reader / reset tool for $29

To be honest my cluster gauges are all screwed up. I was only going 78 when that pic was taken. Oil pressure is pegged on it also. The speedo works most of the time but every once in awhile I will look down and it says I’m doing 100+

What’s worse, having some pot on you and only endangering yourself/future, or driving fast enough to endanger your passengers and everyone on the road.
We have all done stupid things, smoke pot, drink too much, etc. But I think a line is drawn when it goes beyond you hurting yourself, and you endangering others. This has got to be one of the dumbest things he could possibly do. You all should be ashamed of yourself for either doing it yourself, or blowing it off like he did nothing wrong. It’s not a USC/Clemson thing, it a f&^king ignorant thing.

Pretty dumb thing to do, especially with the future he has ahead of him. I had a 1970 GTO with a 140 speedo. I would bury that needle at times knowing if someone or something pulled in front of me I was dead. Youth makes you do stupid things. I bet most of us have done something really stupid/dangeros in our lives. How many of you have driven drunk? Lots I bet. Hopefully he’ll realize that with fame and money come living in a fishbowl and that he will have to exercise better judgment in the years to come.
