CU vs UNC

If CU gets more sacks than turnovers they’ll win the game. Anything else, and there is legitimate cause for concern. I watched Navy play Tulsa earlier this season, and was surprised when my wife made a comment about how the Navy players held the football high and tight until they gave it to the referee. I had noted the same to myself earlier during a run out of bounds by the Navy running back. I then focused on it as the game progressed, and was very impressed by the way all of the Navy offensive players, backs and receivers, held the ball high and tight all the way through the play, after the play, and until they handed the ball to the referee. Not once did a Navy player move the ball out of the crook of his arm until he gave it to the referee…even if he had to run 10 to 15 yards after the play to hand the ball to the referee. Take note Dabo…that’s game film his Tigers need to watch, and coaching that he needs to install. By the way, Navy had 4 total turnovers the entire season up to that game, and they run the triple option. Impressive stat…good coaching.

Good point. Ball management has gotten very sloppy as the season wears on. I don’t know if they’re getting comfortable, tired, or just sloppy.

I still expect Tigers to win by 10 or more.
The Wayne train, Brooks and Watson racking up rushing yards plus high percentage completions to Cain, Peake, Scott, and Hopper

Agree. The other thing is dropped passes. Dropped passes are huge.

But at least we’ll have the officials on our side. *

I’m looking forward to this game; personally I think it’ll be a shootout with lots of points. I think Clemson has the slight edge, but a turnover could change the outcome. Should be entertaining to say the least!

Tigers have been on cruise control since FSU. They’ve played sloppy and not up to par but, they didn’t really have to, just win the game. Saturday will be a whole other level of intensity, expect to see them focused and ready to roll. They’ve gotten no respect this week and a ton of doubt even being in the position they are, I expect them to take it to UNC and make a statement. I honestly think that FSU and Notre Dame were much harder tests than this one will be.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

What evidence do you have to support this?

www.baturinphotography.com

Ricky we can see what our team can do when they want to play. If you watch the team closely you tell they played lazy the past couple weeks. It’s a very young team and it’s hard to keep them motivated for every game.

They are going to be fired up again

Plus we by far have the best defensive line they have seen all year. The three best teams unc played help them all to under 30 points.

Having said that I think it still be close but we prevail

Using that logic last week I watched SC, the worst team in the SEC, compete to the very end with the #1 team in the country…so is SC one of the top teams in the country then?

Do you honestly think that Clemson played the best they can for that game? Do you honestly think that the team effort was the same vs Sakkerliner as it was against FSU? Do you think the team that rolled Miami 58-0 played with the same effort at Sakkerliner last week? You know more about CFB than to believe that.

I just have the feeling that this game won’t even be close. Clemson rolls. That have played sloppy the last couple of games because there was no real sense of urgency. I kind of hope that a UNC player comes over to talk trash during warmups like Miami did…

Why would it matter if UNC has the ball last while down 21+ points?

Fritz told me it was “tater logic” Not sure who to believe…

I think this will be a competitive game but we have to play to our potential and stop any explosive early pass plays by Watson - I hope that at a minimum we make Clemson earn it…what can make it a Clemson runaway? Early explosive play by Clemson, early 3 and outs by UNC or fumble/interceptions by Marquise Williams…
Keep an eye out for this: if he gets overwhelmed by the moment and gets that blank Taj Boyd (that’s for you tigers) head wobble and stare during the game, we’re done. If he can avoid the aforementioned, we have a really good shot at this. I am glued to UNC football every weekend so I have come to know this team and when they play good vs bad. If Marquise plays with confidence and our offensive line (which contains the top lineman in all of college football) can contain the defensive line of Clemson, we will have a good night. And, Fedora has learned his lesson about Elijah Hood since that game one brain gas where he never ran Hood in the red zone…I’m still sick about that loss…but tomorrow night, you’ll see plenty of him…and we have one of the best receiving corps anywhere so good luck keeping up with those guys if Marquise has time to throw the ball.
I’ll be there watching from the “cheap” nosebleeds.
Bottom line is this - incredible year for Clemson - they are a great team…if they beat us tomorrow night which by all rights they should, I hope they win the whole (**() thing! We’ve had a great year no matter what happens tomorrow night and that means all the pressure is on Clemson.
Go Heels!!!

Salty - tell your Tigers to play like they did last week and with similar effort. That would be great.

Sorry for saying this Billy, but I hope Williams is still having nightmares about Lawson and Boulware this time next year.

HA- no need to be sorry…they’re good players - Williams will see them for sure I just hope not too much!
One area for concern for us is the fact that we lost our starting free safety Sam Smiley last week from an injury against NC State. Not a good time to lose a senior free safety either with Watson on the other side. The pressure will really be on our defense to get some stops - we are much better than last year and have good talent, but this will definitely be a test for Chizik’s defense.
