We will be fishing this. Can’t wait, Edisto needed something like this bad. Wish there was a Memorial Day tournie as well.

Short grass and tight lines, make a man feel so fine!

What will be the weather parameters for the fishing in this tournament? Will 3-5’ be fishable for most boats? Should be fun if the weather holds.

How many boats do you have signed up through today?

Tomorrow is actually the first day yto sign up, but I’ve already talked with close to 15-20 that are ready to sign up. I’m expecting between 50-60 boats easy if the weather holds. Right now the forcast is 3-5 on Friday and Saturday, if that holds and hopefully has some seconds between them, we will be fishing Saturday. I’ll update the website tomorrow night and let everyone know whats the schedule.

It’s going to be a lot of fun and if we do see the turn I’m expecting, this will become an annual event. I’ve also talked with the SCSSA about future events being tied together, so people can weigh-in here or in Charleston for each tournament. Talked with a few boats that are fishing both Saturday…so everyone come on down to the Edisto.

We were planning on fishing this tournament, but that NE wind is never fun. Any chance it will be rescheduled for next weekend? Memorial Day used to be the traditional weekend for the offshore tournament at Edisto…

Tournament will be this weekend, as scheduled. Check website for details… Thanks

Smart move in a 22 Sea Pro, sir. Seas building to 4-7 and getting worse. Have fun in your tournament, wish you would postpone until the weather was better, but I guess you have a dollar to make. I hope you have good insurance and Sea Tow on stand-by.

Folks, like I said, the final decision will be made tomorrow at the Captain’s meeting. The forecast continues to change, and I’m sure it will keep on changing. Right now its forecasted at 5 to 10 East winds, seas 4 ft. Yesterday it was NE 15-20 at 4 to 7. Tomorrow it’s liable to be, 5 or less at 3 ft and 9-10 seconds. We will make the call tomorrow. As for some opinions regarding why I’m hosting this event, or what I do with my 220 Sea Pro, I’ll say this. If it doesn’t work out where you can fish this event, come on by anyway. We’ll have live music, great food (fundraiser for a local group), cold beer, great people and some pretty cool prizes… If you can’t make it, come on back in September and fish the Buck’s Pizza SC Div. 3 SKA King Mackerel Tournament. We’ve got all sorts of things lined up for that tournament, including a shag contest, live music all day long, multiple vendors selling all sorts of things, cold beer, wonderful prizes, shirts and we’re going to top it off with a live performance from the world famous Catalina’s. It’s going to be a blast, learn more about it at www.buckspizzakingfish.com

Heck, even Anthony at Sea Tow’s scheduled to come down for that tournament, he’ll be able to get you signed right up.

Appreciate all the support on here folks, we’re keeping our fingers crossed, and we look forward to seeing you all tomorrow night at Buck’s Pizza. Again, SCSSA has opened their scales up for us at the Cooper River Marina, so anyone fishing both events can weigh in their fish in Charleston. Call me with any questions, and we’ll see you tomorrow.

By the way, for those who have asked about where I get my forecast information from, here’s a pretty good one: http://wxweb.meteostar.com/marine/wavemodels.shtml

It looks awful snotty. 3 ft at 5 seconds right now, and projecting to get worse. You boys have fun - we are sitting this one out. No fun fishing in that in a small boat.

Also- why would you have multiple weigh-in locations? Seems to me that if the tournament was held in Edisto, the fish needs to be weighed there?

Short grass and tight lines, make a man feel so fine!

Did the multiple weigh-in locations, so people that wanted to fish both tournaments would have a place to weigh in, without running from Charleston to Edisto just to weigh fish.

Y’all have fun. It may be fishable, but it ain’t gonna be nice. And you better hope the weatherman is right about that NE at 20 not coming 'til Sunday…

BTW, this tourney is 100% payout, right?

You gotta hit em with the kee kee run…

I tend to agree with you, Luckyspur. Appears to be a marginal forecast at best, and that system moving in Sunday (supposedly) is nothing to play around with. We will fish this tournament if it is rescheduled for next weekend, but I’ll be on the hill this weekend.
