Ya know, it must be nice living in Neverneverland. Remind me to come visit you, when I need a break from reality.
That’s awesome!

Congrats! Glad things are looking up at the pier. It’s been a long time. Hope they don’t re-nourish in the near future.

Wow, sounds like a great weekend and saw your story on the news as well shared on Facebook!
Unbelievable the way that fish was mobbed. Saw this the next morning
23 says you only need 20 baits for a day of fishing.

Saw this posted on a local fishing group page as well…and despite asking and asking, no one has fessed up to where it was taken and when. Until then, it’s all hearsay, no?

looking to set up another round of High pressure pushing into the SE coast Saturday through Wednesday or so. Maybe another round of nice clean water will push into the beach like old days.
I would like to believe that isn’t the one I caught due to size difference and way it swam off after 5mins of reviving, but will never know. I have already receiving mass amounts of hate messages on social media for landing the fish, rather not continue the beating here…I did everything I could rushing get fish back into the water.
That dead one looks to be smaller but no way to tell really.
Hey, it took your bait while you were fishing, you were lucky enough for it to be a Tarpon, you landed it and relatively quickly released after being revived, not much more you can do. Even if that is the one you caught.
The ones “hating” are bored people at home on summer break with nothing better to do, dont worry about it.
Look at where Jesus went to pick people. He didn’t go to the colleges; he got guys off the fishing docks.
It is frustrating for sure, we hooked up 5 tarpon that night alone. It is actually fairly common on an evening high tide at pier to hook tarpon. Usually we pull tight getting a few jumps before the silver king breaks us off or straightens hooks. This one being of smaller size it was much easy to control and beach with ease.

It floats and has rod holders. Fine by me.

You almost needed some security to keep all the dumbasses from “helping”
With ease I read 2 hrs. It was a task to land that spot tail I caught the other night. All I can say is nice catch and I hope you don’t let any of the nonsense taint your trophy catch. You should start a pier guide service right now while your names hot. Lol
quote:Not bashing here but if it took you 2 hours to land a tarpon on the beach it wasn't "with ease." At the end of the day it's a nice fish and there are plenty to go around. Awesome catch for you. The yum yums mobbing the fish like they've never seen one before is what is comical. Imagine if you pulled in an 8ft shark. I hope you catch another one this weekend.

I’m moving my tarpon efforts to that pier. I hope wiggs doesn’t see the secret location.
It wasn’t a hard fight. Majority of the time was spent maneuvering to beach then few blocks down. Then trying get mob of people out the way. Once was even with fish we just pulled it to surf. Looking back I should have done the normal, lock my drag, let it jump 2-3x, then break off. I usually beach one per yr but after all this nonsense not worth the headache
