Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

You’re not reading it quite right. The prohibitions on his outside activities don’t apply once the contract is terminated. Some provisions survive, namely no contact with recruits and no disparaging the university, but generally and unless otherwise specified, once notice of termination is given those provisions control and everything else is wiped out. In this case, both parties are relieved of a vast majority of their obligations and Muchamp gets $2 million per year remaining (prorated for short years) payable in installments as the contract describes.

Apparently it is top secret information and those of us that cannot find it are just idiots and not as educated as the guy with a degree from Clemson. FWIW I know people with degrees from Clemson that own million dollar companies, I also know people with degrees from Clemson that have worked as fry cooks at The Dog-n-Duck.

His buyout is for 2 million a year from UF unless he takes another job as a coach. As the language states, if it is as a Head Coach he forfeits any monies owed to him at that time. As with Weiss, were he to take another position as an Assistant the remaining obligation would either be paid out by the prospective employer or reduced to a point of settlement with UF. If Muschamp were to go to say Auburn or Sakkerliner as an assistant coach or coordinator, do you really believe that UF would continue to pay him $2 million a year while he collects another $1-2 million from a competing University? That’s a lot of money and comes down to a pissing contest between the lawyers where the baby and bath water are typically split. So in premise, Will Muschamp can collect $6.3 million over the next three years and do nothing or he can take another HC position and forfeit it all or an assistant position where legal wrangling will ensue and he’ll end up with a portion of the money but no where close to the full buyout terms.

That is not the exact language in the contract but that is essentially what the meaning is. If you’ve ever entered into mediation and/or arbitration on contracts with this sort of monetary value, seldom does either party get what they want, regardless of what the contract says.

One thing I know about contracts is that they really aren’t worth the paper they are written on when you get lawyers involved, especially when you are talking about this sort of money. If UF decides that they want to tie it up or find reason to default they will.

That could actually be said about any other college out there, including USuC…

He doesn’t have the right to occupy the position of head coach AT FLORIDA. That doesn’t mean other schools.

I take absolutely no side or interest in the dispute between Salty and Fritz (with regard to this particular argument or otherwise).

That disclaimer out there, I read the clause on page 39 to mean that Muschamp cannot hold himself out as head coach of the University of Florida following termination or engage in acts as the university’s agent as head coach. I do not read it to mean he cannot be a head coach anywhere.

I find this important because it makes a big difference as to whether or not he’ll be on the sidelines (or box) somewhere in the SEC next year.

C’mon guys, can’t we all just get along?

Good Lord, who really cares. You guys should stand on the Ravenel bridge and have an actual pissing contest, ***** not included.

Termination of employment removes his position as HC and severs his ties with UF in any role at all other than compensation due a parameters set forth to collect it. The entire language preceding that clause makes it clear. IF that is not the case then Muschamp had some (**() good lawyers draft his own contract and get UF’s 1st year wet behind the ears legal counsel sign and agree to it.

We’ll just have to wait and see how it plays out.

Now, let’s find another subject to frustrate Capt Fur Coat.
