So where are we? Should I start tying? Do we have ten yet?
As of right now, we are stuck at 6. We can go ahead with the swap, or we can wait for 4 other guys.
Y’all let me know what you want to do.
I just finished up 11 doz bonefish flies… so i guess I could manage another swap… count me in.
I’ll tie something… ill figure it out when i sit at the vise.
Mad Mike
Mike’s mud minner? Let say this Friday is the deadline. Then, whoever is in starts tying then we swap in a week or two? By the way, I really appreciate the participation guys!
Might do the “Mud Minnow”, but then again I might try something a little different. We’ll see

im in. went to some trout seminars this week. silversides are supposed to be a main food source this time of year for mr spec. i will research em and come up with something.
we dont need no reservations we dont need no cruise control
you da man mike. my mind wanders on a single dozen order. not sure i have ever done more than 5 or six the same otherwise. soon as i get one down i am thinking of a variation.
you might be primed for a fantasia.
thanks for jumping in.
has anybody tried my spoons from the last swap?
that was a wonderful mix of styles and designs.
look forward to another.
i suggest we kick in an extra fly for the administrator. something different - maybe edgy; a little incentive to lick all those stamps… if he likes it he could suggest it for the next swap. or spare the next group a dog.

Sounds good. Mine are all tied up. The following is a sample. I tried to get a pic of it in the dark, but to no avail. I guess yall will just have to see for yourself. (Insert here a lame joke about a playing with your fly in a dark room).

I’ve got a stupid question about your glow shrimp, is the glow material already on the fly or do you added and charged when you plan to fish it?

If you look at a post about a month or two ago he explains how he does it. I believe it is an epoxy shrimp that he paints with the glow. He said he charges it when he is out fishing. He actually gave a web site on where to buy the glow paint from. Pretty neat stuff! Tommorrow is the deadline on the swap right? Thanks for the help on the swap JMB.

Yes, tomorrow is the deadline for signing up. As of right now, we have 9 people in. I will email you all with my mailing address tomorrow.
Rookie is right. You get the best/quickest charge with a hand held black light. The fly itself is made with some glow flash added in (the antenna is all glow flash as well), but most of the glow comes from the epoxy body. I first build a epoxy body, then allow it to dry. I then paint two coats of glow paint and allow each coat to dry. Finish with a very thin coat of epoxy or 2-3 coats of hard as nails over the paint.

Heads up on Glow Materials in Flies. There’s a lot of Glow Material that’s curretly on the market which you don’t have to manipulate to use, while it still has to be charged before you use it if you want it to glow properly, they’s a lot less time and effort involved when you tie if you go with something that’s already manufactured. Is anyone encorporating this stuff into any of your designs and if so what’s been your experiences in both tying and fishing? In an effor to keep this thread on topic, I’ll start a new post under the topic Glow Materials so everyone try to respond accordingly.
looks like the final count is nine people trading.
What’s the drop dead date for getting our flies to the coordinator?
I’ll break out the vise this weekend. I’ll still be doin clousers, but will most likely do mixed size between #2 and 1/0 and play with colors.
The coordinator get’s choice and disperses the rest as he sees fit:wink:
So much water, So little time
Okay, we are locked in at 9 people, so everyone will need to tie 8 flies. I am emailing my address out now.
When you mail your flies to me, please include your return address, your CF.com log-in name (so I’ll know whose I have gotten), and $2. Does that seem fair to everyone? The $2 will go to purchasing padded mailers and will help cover postage. I don’t know exactly how much it will cost, but I think $2 will be close enough - I can cover the rest, if there is any.
I will update on here as I receive people’s flies, and will mail them out as soon as I receive everyone’s, or by the cutoff date. Let’s make the cutoff date February 8 - is that enough time for everyone? I know some of you have mentioned tying two and I want to make sure everyone has plenty of time.
