Folly Beach County Park

Went out to the county park at the west end of the beach Saturday. Hooked up on 4 in about 4 hours. 2 juvi black drum about 10" and 2 reds one 23" and the other 19" came while I was packing up. Caught em on cut shrimp from Walmart, double drop rig with 3oz pyramid on 20lbs Flouro. I’d post pics but can’t figure out how so here’s the report!

Yep my son just loves to be outside, doesn’t matter what hes doing. What better place to let him run around and exert all that energy than the beach while I fish? I’m probably going to go out to the park again this weekend and put some of those surf fishing tips to use and see if I can do any better!

LOL :sunglasses:

We all know you are just playing with this tape measure and that your fish was only 22.75 inches. Nice try on trolling us though.

Big blue stringer thrown in for effect, these guys are edgey.

Lol yall are funny. No it was actually 23 5/16 if I can read tape correctly.

Next you might want to read the regulations regarding redfish if that's the case

New member posts a pic of a dead fish, then post a macro pic of one end of a tape showing a fish slightly over the slot, with a stringer neatly placed as if to indicate said fish was on the stringer (why else would you put a fish on a stringer, duh?) all equals a trolling effort that was/is nothing more than a dry hump.

This is why I LOL’D :sunglasses:

Better luck next time.

And yes DP, the one dead fish he showed is most likely a legal one, so don’t worry your petty lil self over anyone being scolded for keepin’ Red Drum that might be over (or under) the slot limit by me in this topic.

BTW King, where exactly in the park were you? Background in that one photo looks weird, nothing like the background of the area I usually fish.

Maybe you did get hooked like a jugbelly on a clouser, which is LOL as well :sunglasses:

Dude said he caught 2 but only showed 1 home for supper.

Come on man, you should be smarter than at after all these years of it. :kissing_closed_eyes:

LOL :sunglasses:

The fish “is” in the freezer. I you had 2 for the freezer you would have a look at me picture with 2 in the kitchen…

“It does you no good seeing pics of fish you didnt catch Mugil.”

What does that even mean?

I like seeing fish pictures as much as anybody. Maybe your crystal ball is malfunctioning.

Nice reds, glad to know they’re in the surf.

I havent fished IOP just yet. Been there a couple times just to go but haven’t fished. I might try it out the next good day I have. What are the fish feeding on there? It takes me about an hour to Folly, Edisto, and IOP so either way I have a good drive, but I do go pretty early in the morning so I hit minimal traffic.

edit: And I am pretty sure you can make out the bright blue… Man I was about to bust your spot. sorry. I have fished that same area many times.

Not my spot dude, but I know it pretty good. I can see the bright blue, it’s the rest of it that doesn’t make sense. Although I rekon there is only 1 bright blue house on the entire stretch of coast, so it has to be. Besides, it’s a frikkin county park you can drive right up to, hardly a secret and usually overly crowded with yum yum’s. Maybe I could have been of some help but it seems he doesn’t want to say which area he was in and yall are more interested in being 's.

First he say’s it was 23" then he say’s “NO, it was actually 23 5/16 if I can read tape correctly.” Then he says he measured it on a flat board and it was just under the slot. How many folks here have a flat, hard measuring board?

Anybody?

I don’t believe anything this guy says, so without pictures of 2 dead fish, there were no 2 dead fish. Although I encourage him to keep on keeping large fish that are right at the limit, that extra 5/16" is gonna bite him one day. I only hope I’m there to witness it.

DP, I have a flip phone and this new laptop with ****ty dial-up service. Posting pictures on the internet of fish I catch isn’t a priority for me. Some people have to brag and show proof of their prowness, it’s OK, I understand.

Look at it like the football players who score a TD and simply trot off the field, because they’ve been there before, vs the ones who have to do a jiggy dance and make a spectacle out of themselves…

In closing: “I drive about an hour to folly and would like to make the best of my time out.”

KP, you are spending time fishing with your kid right, what else more is there t

Nice man, those big boys right on the slot are pretty tough to filet since the scales are bigger than my big toe. Good to know you guys are still getting them in the surf, doing better than I am inshore. I’ll be out there every day next week and will hopefully have a few pics to throw up, gonna take my first shot at sheepies if folks are still catching those?

See, I give you props and you still want to act like an a$$hat.

Why do I care so much about what?

Slot Limits?

Really, explaining it to people like you is like talking to a stump.

Better questions… why would you take pictures indicating you’ve killed an oversized fish?

Why don’t you want to discuss the park?

How is my topic concerning under the slot and over the limit criticizing posts?

How is my telling the guy looking for mullet exactly when and where to go criticizing posts? (actually I was 100 times more helpful than your hero in that particular post, who narrowed it down to “troughs on the beach”)

Criticizing someone throwing pyramid sinkers at people… no $h!t huh… you must think that’s funny too. I’ll accept that one and carry the banner proudly…

Idiot.

It’s all good, I’m glad know to not waste my time helping you, like I do everybody else I bump into out there. Hopefully you’ll be stuck in the sand or needing a jumpstart.
