And so it begins

That’s not all Mark f*#@ked up

You got that right Izzy. I wonder if he’s gonna enforce the beer rule very doubtful. Seems to favor the drunks on folly pier

Yep Lunkerlover, my thoughts exactly. It’s just a matter of time. One word-headlamp. :sunglasses:

The shark fishing doesn’t bother me. It’s the other crap he’s doing.

The other crap is exactly what I’m talking about.

If he wants to fix things, he needs to look at the BS that’s been going on for the past 2 years there.

Also, I was made aware I will not be able get refund on annual pass? At least apache is only another 30mins, and cheery point another hr.

Not that I fish Folly pier, but I know King of the pier does and pulls in some great bull reds. That being said…does he have to switch to a #2 hook and shrimp? What are they considering large bait and hooks? I normally throw a 5 to 8" mullet on a #10 circle…would I be fined $500. Your going to hook up a shark if there is alot of bait in the water…chumming is another story. Just my 2c

Walkman form the article;

With the current rules set in place, if you are caught fishing for sharks on the pier you may be asked to leave by employees of Charleston County Parks, but, with the new ordinance, you could be facing fines totaling as much as $500 and up to 30 days of jail t

Simple fact is people will catch sharks, there is no avoiding it. Especially if using larger bait for reds.

Makes me want to go to Wallyworld, buy a $20 combo, see how many wraps of 80lb braid will fit, Get some bid a$$ hooks, big a$$ cut bait, heavy sinkers. Go out to Fooly (misspelled on purpose) cast crooked and go ker-plunk.

Are you allowed to king fish anymore? Trolley rig?

Can’t shark fish on Grand Strand piers and they are infested with sharks.

Indy, from the info I’m getting. Yes, you can for a extra fee.

I’ll be (**()ed if I ever buy another annual pass and if I get thrown in jail, I will have over 100 pictures of reds that I have caught while “shark” fishing at the trial when I sue the f%>~ out of them.

Tony, no offense, but that is not how any of this or the legal system works lol.

I understand that, but how do they determine if you ARE fishing for shark? My red rig could be used for shark.

they are not “cracking down” on by catch situation…

but I’m sure if you roll up with a 50w loaded with braid or 100lb mono with a steel leader and a 12-20/0 circle floating out a whole ray or other fish they will have an issue and rightfully so… no one is disputing that sharks swim and frequent the beaches and especially the piers… I mean its basically the same as going to waffle house to get breakfast… its a fast simple cheap meal…

what they don’t want is people pulling them up or intentionally dragging them up on the beach with people swimming in the adjacent area. sure it makes for good pictures but you cant educate people that are closed minded on a subject. your never going to win an argument with them. all your going to do is make them madder and usually get a call on you or dnr or police come and have a nice chatt with you…

Indy no ropes or bait tank anymore. You can still trolley rig. The only bad part is the bottom fisherman can get next to you now and still have to pay the extra. You have to pay to park even with an annual pass.
