I can’t believe my Gamecocks. I bought tickits to 3 home and 2 away games. Just stunned, I thought we had a top 10 or top 5 team. No way, they are not even top 25. Everyone at the sports bar is just stunned by had bad they are. I will never stop rooting for my team though despite how it seems.
They were over ranked and over hyped and I have been a fan my entire life. Secondary is very young and it is on full display tonight. Probably not the best first game opponent they could have faced. They looked very confused most of the night. The field was wide open in the 15 yard range all night. Right behind the linebackers and in front of the secondary.
I said before, they will not be as good as people thought. But the defense sucks.
I thought the offense was decent. But had to push on every series because the d sucked so bad.
And tackling …what tackling. Pitiful.
Can Clowney be that much of a difference maker? Nobody would have scored 52 against Carolina in any scenario last year, home or away. Could have been 59. Almost 700 yards of offense put up against (what I thought) to be 1 of the strongest defenses in the country. What gives?
They lost way more than just him. They return 1d lineman. Lost both corners.
They lost a whole lot off of last years defense, not just Clowney. Also saw the graphic they put up on tv, they broke the school record for most yards given up… Ouch.

And to think they were 10 point favorites and lost by 24 or 31 if AM would have scored that last TD that they ran out the clock on the 1. And they were playing at home and were hyped by everyone. Our season is over as soon as it began. No SEC East title for this team, struggle to just remain top 25.
No one person makes a team, it is what it is… Y’all have a young team that will get better as the season progresses and let’s face it, T A&M showed up to play ball… Put this one to memory and focus on the next one!!

I believe the difference maker is shaw. Look back at the three games usc should have lost last year. In two out of the three shaw was the savior. And the other was that traitor Davis. I never liked the kid I’m glad he’s gone to the browns. But usc really sucked tonight. Theres gonna be alot of abused headsets clipboards visors, etc this year. And I’m lovin it.

How can you conclude that the difference maker is Shaw when the defense gave up almost 700 yards and 52 points? If Shaw was there, would have have put up 800 yards and 53 points? I think it was pretty simple. The defense blew it…

I think you meant “morale”, genius. And by the way, how old are you?
And if you knew anything about football, you’d realize how demoralizing it is for the offense to create, much less sustain, a momentum swing when the defense is nonexistent. Or vice versa. They feed off one another.
Oh yeah, and the offense is fine; despite their “issues”, they still scored 28 points, which is enough to win 9 out of 10 games.
