There is No excuses for what they did. I don’t care how bad he was calling the game, I don’t care if he called them a name. I have been called plenty of nasty things (on this site too) but it is how you react that makes you who you are. These kids reacted with violence, that tells me all I need to know about them

If I was a ref and I had been talking **** to some punks that deserved it probably I would have been keeping my eye on them and they wouldn’t have been able to blindside me like that. But If I had just made some “bad calls” and their coach thought “I had it coming” then they would have been able to sneak up on me. I do believe also that there are some other officials in that video and they are black which makes it harder for me to believe that racial slurs were involved. It will be interesting to read their testimony to the altercation. Even if I have to explain it to Salty.
I said he deserved it if what they allege is true. I also said if it was just a cheap shot they should be expelled from school. Refs have zero business doing anything on the field other than enforcing the rules of the game, be it a penalty or ejection. Was it the right course of action, probably not but, actions have consequences.

Some of you must still be living in the world of rainbows and make believe. This nation is divided on racial lines right now, not sure if you sunshine fair play pumpers have grasped that fact these days. IF a ref were referring to a black player using “N-this or N-that”, he’s asking to take an ass whipping. Or maybe the player thought he heard something along those lines. He gets mad and takes a shot. Was is right, probably not but, armchair quarterbacking the video when you don’t have all the facts is pretty stupid as well. He committed the act blatantly, no doubt about that, which was stupid. Had he veiled it as contact during the course of the play, all of you would be saying too bad, the ref is part of the field. The outcome is still going to be the ref getting blindsided and decked.
