How could someone be considered for a Heisman that isn’t even playing in their conference championship and won’t even be on the field the weekend of voting for the award for pundits to watch them play?
It is possible that Jalen Hurts and Watson will be the only 2 Heisman hopefuls playing championship weekend.
Michigan and OSU could both miss out to Penn State. Obviously Jackson is done after this weekend, and OU doesn’t even have a championship game.
With that said, why do we even have these championship games anymore. Why not just go to a field of 8 playoff? I would much rather see Bama and Clemson square off against some top 8 teams instead of what we have. That would give teams like OU a chance to play in instead of just sit back and wait for an upset.
You really want to have a pathetic discussion about conferences?
Not that it matters, but they should be ranked by then. And I wouldn’t talk so mighty considering your team was a 4th and goal stop away from being unranked and in as well.
SEC East has some serious beat downs coming this weekend from this conference that you think so highly of this week.

As far as OU goes, they play every other team in their conference, as does every other Big 12 team. How is that not enough to prove who the best team in the conference is… thus a true conference champion. Joe Mixon is the best athlete on that team, anyway. Dede Westbrook should win the Biletnikoff award, hands down.
With that said, Watson should win the Heisman.
His stats will be better after 13 games when voting happens than he had through 15 last year. If not, then he shouldn’t get it, but if he can then he should. I never said he was a lock today, but he has an opportunity to play 2 perfect games like he did against Wake and the numbers will be there.
Wake was our toughest game before we get to the playoffs.
