looking to buddy boat

going to be at edisto june 10-17, i’ve always fished the edisto 40 and 60, but wanted to try the offshore reef. curious if anyone wanted to buddy boat out there just in case something goes wrong. im in a 20 ft cc with a honda 135.

What do you want to fish for?

whatever is there… just been wanting to go the last few times ive been, but the weather and the ocean have never cooperated… prob just bottom fish for whatever will bite.

I am coming that same week I will be happy to buddy boat with u

sounds good, i’ll keep in touch. had this planned last year but the water was a little too rough for me to try going out that far. hopefully it will be better this year.

Hopefully it will be nice and calm all week

When the weather cooperates, spadefish will be thick at the 60. Cobia will show, especially with the use of chum. Cudas and amberjack will also be there in force along with the endangered seabass. If it’s too rough to venture that far, bluefish, ladyfish, whiting, and trout will be on the sandbar to the left of the entrance of the South Edisto River. If it’s calm, I will most likely be in that area chasing spades and cobia.

Thanks for the heads up. This is my first trip to edisto so any info your willing to share is appreciated.

How much fuel do you carry! MIght want to go to Edisto Banks or 226 hole if the weather is nice!

I have a 78 gal tank. My fuel burn is excellent thanks to my 4 stroke.

I caught three Cobia and three limits of BSB’s yesterday near the 60. Spades were everywhere but wouldnt eat shrimp. Hooked in to a few large ones that broke off.

thanks for the report, im counting down the days, went friday but water was a little chopped up and didnt do as good as i hoped. more boats is no problem with me, just a little extra assurance.

nasty dawg did you see any jelly balls? i looked the whole way out but never saw a one.

Never saw the first jelly ball. The spades started eating shrimp but we had to leave because the wind and seas were picking up.
