I had a feeling Watson was turning more into Cam Newton mentally and that might have been part of his issues. He seemed much different this year than before, and I remember reading somewhere that he didn’t like being called a dual-threat QB because it was racist. Sounds like someone in his inner circle has gotten him unfocused, too busy worried about things other than playing football.
Hope he gets back to the old Deshaun, otherwise it’s a long fall when pride gets in the way. Good for him for stepping up and realizing there is a problem and not just pointing fingers.

He said it. Said D-T QB is code word for black QB. Said it is a racial stereotype that he has been battling. He said people think because he is black, he is a run first QB. Never mind the 1000’s of yds. in the air in HS and College. Sounds like something Cam would say. Read the article.
Glad he stepped back, took stock on himself, admitted fault and is looking in the right direction. Lot of maturity to do that at 21.

They will be fine this week I think Whammy is coaching on defense at SC State so don’t expect to be able to see any of their defensive secondary on your television when they line up on defense.

Luckily or unfortunately I was at the “battle of Bristol” Saturday so I couldn’t watch the game to see what was happening on the field. But I hope Watson gets his head right and we get back on track to the Championship game.
