edistobrad, you started this thread with a question about what may have covered up the deer, well, we will never know. I feel sure if you post a pic of a bobcat looking at the deer some ? weeks later, it doesn’t mean that it killed the deer. I’m not saying it was a cougar type cat that was responsible. Although it would make a really good topic if you had a cougar’s pic standing by the deer on your first topic post. I know you have read every entry and have noticed quite a few with cougar (panther) sightings. Were they all true? I feel most were ,however some were obviously a little comical to say the least. A lot of good replies maybe a record number of readers. Keep up the good work tell us about your encounter with that a big cat. THANKS

The bobcat in those pics is a little to small to have killed the deer ,however it’s mother could have tried to bury it. NO BOBCAT KILLED THE DEER. Made a meal or two from it, as well as a couple of opossums and maybe a half dozen buzzards by now. I enjoyed all the big cat stories keep them coming.

No other animals feed on this deer according to the caretaker. He removed it just a few days after the original sighting. At first he thought there were no pictures taken and I did not run into him until yesterday when he told me that a bobcat did the deed and he had pictures. It was very cold on those days when this happened and no buzzards were attracted to it.
I really do not care now if people believe this or not. I found out what I wanted to know. I never lied or posted anything incorrect. I was just hoping to get some input from you and share what was found. A bobcat is on the top of the food chain next to man so I think the bobcat did the deed.
We have enjoyed all of the cat stories. Please don’t stop posting just because the ?? was answered. There are still big cat stories out there just waiting to be told. Maybe you saw one last year or your pop saw one 30 years ago. Who knows maybe you’ll see one next week, while your Turkey Hunting. Hopefully one doesn’t see your grandchild first.

quote:That would be of most importance in your investigation. As for the pictures, it is hard to make them out. Looks like some type of cat none the less. I have a huge mountain lion that runs loose on our club as well as bobcats and a panther that was spotted. The mountain lion was caught on camera several times durring the night. I heard that it was brought here and raised illegally up until the time that it escaped.
UPSMANSC- Can you share those photos? I am assuming you are talking about a sc location? Even if it was a cat that got lose, it would still place some legitimacy to claims in this state. Even the local papers run a story about it every so often.
The fishing was good; it was the catching that was bad. </font id=“size2”> Hobie Adventure Kayak </font id=“size2”> 24’ Wellcraft </font id=“size2”>
Good morning all. Just a quick note, I received a message from the Pig Picker yesterday about his friend seeing a big black cat, while hunting. Soooo, if you don’t get rained out this morning and head out to the blind, take your camera just in case. Everyone always ask did you take a picture of the PANTHER??? You might get real lucky and get a Big Tom, plus earn a place in the history books also, for getting that picture of a cat.
