Is that a Street Glide Special?
No she started life as a straight up street glide.
Interfering changed out with the vivid black would have been flat black originally.
The larger touch screen GPS and all that good stuff…2-- 1,000 w amps she’ll rattle the windows.True duals. Also window Rattlers. The neighbors already love me anyway…
16" apes, jury still out on them. extended lowered bags extended flared fender.
Only thing done to the motor was a 277? cam supposedly a good mid-range. She’ll flat roll.
The only thing it don’t have the special would have come with is the alarm. The key fob & the alarm are pain in the @ anyway. Cruise control. Hair tie between the switch block and the grip.
That problem solved.
He spent a buttload of money on that bike.
I’m going to put a 21" flatt spoke on the front. Change the lower fork slides to Chrome. Maybe put a dirty air ride rear suspension.

Bought the bike Friday afternoon. Told him would pick it up Sunday afternoon. Run home picked up the wife headed to Savannah. The way back home Sunday told her needed to make a detour. Pulled in the driveway garage was open. Wife. so we’re here to look at a bike?? Noooo.
She’s ready for a road trip. I got the bestest wife… But I think it’s going to cost me a new car before years out…

Can’t hide money they say
That’s a swell looking scooter
I’ve always loved the spoked rims, in good weather. Those things are a pain to keep clean after riding through wet roads. Don’t think I’ve ever seen a Blacked out one. Looks very nice.
Since this is a thread about projects…

You got the heart of the Project…
Go ahead and get your TDC while intake is off. Roll to 0 degrees and if pushrods for #1 has a tight valve and #6 both are loose roll another 180* if #1 loose and #6 is tight you are there. Makes it easy to install distributor. Don’t use the two end gaskets when you install intake… a good thick 1/4" bead of RTV is best. Many Youtube do it yourself videos on this. I’d set timing around 34*. I usually advance my timing to where I want when installing distributor and set rotor on #1 in cap and love it when I’m with in a couple of degrees when you fire it off. Give me a call if you have any questions when you get to this point.
I’m gonna call you when its time to set this thing on the frame! But I’m probably at least a month or two away.
Too many projects lately. Just this year I’ve replaced the roof, did a major electrical overhaul to the house to include outdoor uplighting on the house, ran power and water underground to the dock, and I have new garage doors being delivered in the next few weeks. Once the garage doors get in, I’ll have some free time!

Always a good laugh when it’s 180° out. You go to fire it up and the drunk hanging around your shop wants to look in the carburetor. And comes back with no eyebrows.
.
Might should have went with a narrow white wall.
Rain was pounding so I figured I’d kill some time with the Sportster. Carb leaking. Bad oRing on accelerator pump.
Ended up running home in the rain anyway.
1984 1100 Sportster first year of the Evo motor.
Will be for sale soon as I get a carburetor kit and new front tire. $2750. Hopefully next week. Nice little bike. Title in hand.

Old boy tour one up in front of Sherwin-Williams this morning. up here in Greenville… Not sure what happened. I think he just panicked and lost it Somebody kind of sort of, maybe pulled out in front of him. It was cool this morning and lucky for him he had a leather on. But his hands and leg are pretty chewed up. He went off in the meat wagon…
I think we have went over 1000 traffic fatalities this year already. And I believe we’re pushing 70 motorcycle deaths.
My left butt cheek pins and needles from road rash when I was 13 years old. Hid it from my parents for a couple days. Blood stains on sheets busted me out. They took me to the hospital. That was 1 of the most HORRIBLE experiences I ever have had. I think I passed out when they were cleaning it.
This Willie g skull kind of freaks me out. I feel like the dammn thing staring at me.
It’s replacement. Coming soon to a mailbox near me.

That skull is also on my primary going to change that but need to save my pennies. Want to go with a custom eagle globe and anchor… Forum will never let me post a screenshot…

I like that tank! And yeah, road rash is a b*tch. My dad had to lay down a bike years ago when a car pulled out in front of him. Broke his collar bone and took nearly all the skin off his back. I’m not sure who I felt worse for, my dad or my mom, who had to change his bandages. He was NOT a good patient.

It won’t let me post a screenshot…
Just made a deal sight unseen pictures only… The guy had bought the bike a year ago from a widow of an army paratrooper. The paint job on the gas tank has jump wings in the logo from the 174th. Probably turn it into a tribute bike. Road trip tomorrow to Eutawville

Yep another project that I don’t have time to get to working out of town…
Paint is in good shape. Going to get the name of the previous owner airbrushed on the tank in the colors of a Vietnam service ribbon. Rear fender , names of my personal heroes… thinking front fender tribute to the Marines killed in Beirut. Already started ordering stuff last night… online shopping hahaha
I have big plans for this bike…

$300 for a tuner. That is vin locked to the bike. Big rip off… Have to buy another one for the street glide. To take out the catalytic converter.
I’m pretty much computer illiterate. So I paid someone to do it for me. But the old boy was pretty cool. 90 bucks an hour labor rate. charged me $50 . He probably could have done it in 30 minutes. But he let me hang out and went through everything with me… about an hour and a half.
Think he got it. Seem to have a little more get up and go and runs a little cooler
The good old days 10 bucks for a couple Jets.

Careful on that online night ordering. Don’t drink and do it! I had some stuff come in and don’t remember ordering it. Was almost like Christmas.
You are getting quit the collection.
