Hey Rob, I’m gonna have to make a trip out to the pier one day and see how that whole “trolley” fishing deal works. I’ve heard of it, just never seen it up close yet.

I have not had the opportunity to try the daytime deep drop yet. I can’t see why it won’t work. I know how to rig for sword, right down to the breakaway sinkers. SOON!!
I use a lot of Power pro. 20 lb on my trout rods, 50 lb on my sheephead rods, 80 on my spinning rod for offshore (pitch rod). I had two different electric reels that had hi vis 150 top shots of 300 yds each. it took 4 break offs at different times to convince me of a problem. The line didn’t just snap, it frayed out, and cracked like a whip when it broke. I have Calcutta braid on both of those reels now, and have not had any problem…
Do you group of maniacs really fish with 80W’s from the beach??

Thanks for the heads up on the braid Sells. Now I have to rethink things. And Yes, This maniac will be fishing with an 80W from the beach if I can get it spooled with what I need. lol

RACRX- why don’t you put braided dacron line on that reel…you can get 130# 1200 yds for around $80.00–heat set-water proofed-IGFA

Yep, I found it. Looks like I can get two spools of that dacron for the cost of one Super braid!. I think thats what Im going to try Rob. With a heavy mono top shot, I think this will serve it’s purpose. Thanks for the heads up!

i used that dacron on my king rigs before…you can’t break it …it’s that strong…they got mad at me for useing it because when i had a fish it would go right threw there mono…you will laugh at this one…left one night put my cart in the back of the truck …then put inshoreboys cart in behind mine not knowing that it released my drag on one my fighting rods…after we left folly tryanoutcastme was flicking his lights on and off…have you ever trolled doing 50 miles an hour… made everybody’s day…

The photo is doctored, but that area is a hot-bed for large whites as documented by some fatalies at Bakersfield beach and in the general area of San Fran… Would love to fish the are around the farrilon islands there someday… catch and release ofcourse:wink:
I wonder if a Great White has ever ben caight from the beach? What a fight that must be! Is it even possible? Hmmmm, Road trip lol. Just tie a line around one of them rubberized surfers. They seem to be a good food source lol.

Your right about them Aussie’s!! But they almost wiped out the “White Pointers” from needless killing. In fact I believe they used to have a government sponserd culling of the Great Whites. Many a monster needlessly killed.
