bowhunter; are you calling me out? sounds like somebody is looking for trouble. really sounds like somebody is daring to meet up with me and drink a beer or seven. now iām shaking big time. ha ha o.k. i am all in.
we need to meet up anyway. might could share a shrimping trip a time or two. never hurts to split cost. i got a 19ā seapro cc 115/4strk yammy that works just fine and knows itsā way around bulls bay.

Would love to. Bulls Bay is my Achilles heel. I have almost no experience there and the place kinda scares me to tell you the truth. My net throwing for this year is over, though. I had an accident about 6 weeks ago, and it has left me with very painful right shoulder. Probably gonna need surgery (MRI scheduled). But I can drive a boat, drink beer, and yell at the net thrower. Howās that?

Threw a few bait binder patties into the creek off of St. Helena sound and waited on the incoming tide. Was getting about 8-10 shrimp per net cast off the floating dock. Of the group 2 would be good size and everything else small. Seemed to be a lot of shrimp, but probably a month behind the size they need to be.

hehe - the comment about yelling at the net thrower - I do the same thing Ha!
Thanks Bonzo, Till I read your post I wasnāt aware of the ignore listā¦there you go, another great day, I learned something new!! My list now has someone on it.
Went to the harbor Tuesday night figured Iād try the out going tide⦠had to work yesterday so it was going to be an early night either way it went. Set up shallow knowing we would only be there a couple hours after the tide turned. Wind and waves settled down nice. Started throwing getting one or two per cast after a few runs we figured to pack it in. Just before doing so my daughter mentioned going out deeper and free casting once. First cast 3 shrimp next cast a couple more. Heck in a few cast we caught as many free casting in the deeper water than we did over the bait in shallow (bigger ones to boot). Almost let her talk me into moving poles and baiting them up again, but like I said work on Wed. and 0430 comes early. Iāll remember that next time in the harbor on high tide waiting on it to turn.

Amen. Went out there opening night, thatās what I pretty much got. I think I got around 15 that were worth heading, the rest were bait for my in law. With that said, he did get a lot of bait, and was doing well fishing.

I shrimp with a guy I went to highschool with, we only get together a couple times a year and are still best of friends. I usually throw as I dont feel confident in running his boat so its "you missed the bait, try not to hit th
bowhunter; that will work just fine. i would much rather throw the net than drive. then i can have my back to you and just shake my head when you pull up to the pole. that always makes the driver feel so good. ha ha. just give me a call 331-8873.
Thanks guys! Going to do a little shrimping with MARSHGRASS and my daddy soonā¦but not bait shrimpingā¦going to wait and let them grow a little. Ones Iāve been catching are pretty mixed and small. Got a new 10 and 12 foot net with the webbing sewn in that I need to put to use. ā¦one things for sureā¦take a bait net into a creek now and one to two casts and youāll be set :). Hope theyāll stay around and grow some for the freezerā¦if not I ll get some form Carolina seafood.
DF it appears to me that some folks just donāt like helping others, itās in their nature probably something to do with the way they were raised and nothing we can say or do will change it. Now why they feel it necessary to talk about other folks offering help I just plain donāt understand. Donāt let the narrow minded actions of a few sour you on the whole site. The saying that they donāt have to read the site works both ways, I just donāt read their post. When I see their handle I just skip it. I donāt have time for them. Good luck this seasonā¦
I never knew there were so many democrats on this sight.I am a Fire Fighter and Rescue Diver. I have pulled bloody bodies out of that bay and taken them to the helicopter. Donāt try to say I donāt help people, you have no idea what you are talking about. I might tell some folks south end or north end but I would never draw a map for people who are to lazy to get off the coutch and scout for them selves. Try that crap with duck hunting or deer hunting, or even diving for that matter. And those goofy theories about bait and limits is just, well, goofie.
Dang, and I thought you had gone away. Thanks for helping save lives/bodies. Doing such, you would think you would be more open -minded about providing some constructive input. Hmm, I guess that mindset stays at work huh?
