Don’t see it. Florida is a dumpster fire, how many years of coaching does Spurrier realistically have in him before he retires. Also, why would Florida hire a 70yo coach knowing it is not for the long term.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

He has always done what other people think he shouldn’t.
Why do you think he took the head coot job to begin with?
Florida might be a dumpster fire, but not a landfill fire like FSU is going to be. Miami and UCF are treading water and Spurrier could go down there and go out on top like he wants.
He is starting over at s.Car right now just as he would be in Florida.
Florida wants him back, and they’ve got the $$$ and golf courses.
He’s either going or he is just setting them up for an epic punking. I could be wrong, but I just don’t think he would do that to his alma mater.

Probably for the same reason USuC hired Lou Holtz… Desperation
A bad day fishing is much better than a good day at work.
He easily has six years left in him. Recruits would turn on a dime. With the right people in place, he could have a winner there in two years. That may look very appealing compared to the current situation.

It’s plausible but, I still don’t see it. Though he could write his own ticket and do whatever he wanted. I don’t think at this time money is much of a motivating factor to SOS, he’s got plenty of it and it’s not like he’s going to be living on a pension when he does decide to hang it up.
Motivation to return to his Alma Mater and become the savior of Gator football would be his only desire. IMO.

Spurrier has nothing to prove at Florida. He’s said time and time again that he enjoys doing things that have never been done. Money doesn’t motivate him; winning does. If he left SC for another coaching job, it would be somewhere that hasn’t experienced much of winning history.
He will retire as the SC head coach and not coach anymore…just my thoughts…but that won’t be until he’s well in his 70s. The Clemson faithful would love for him to leave, understandingly so, but he’s not going anywhere for the next five, maybe six years.
Phin is a rumor starter and troublemaker, and his wife told me that he has been known to kick the dog on occasion. Just want you people to know who you are dealing with here. Let it be known.
Most of his family lives in Columbia. Kids, grandkids. I doubt his wife will let him leave.
Don’t they have a big estate in Florida? Ever heard of Mayflower Moving Company? I doubt Mrs. Spurrier is that enamored with Columbia, surely she’s seen other parts of the country that are more desirable to live in.
I also heard some speculation that Junior was ready to get out from under daddy’s shadow and move on but, that may be just a rumor.
I don’t think he goes anywhere but, it wouldn’t shock me in the least if he left for a UF job. He’s been a Sakkerliner for 10yrs or so, sort of his MO to change jobs every 10 years.

I like how 23sailfish tries to swim through my trolling spread and nose up to the baits but not bite… then, as he jumps out of a wave to make fun of us on the boat, he gets foul hooked.

“When I departed three years ago, there were several reasons why I believed it was time to move on,” Spurrier said. “Other than simply wanting to coach in the NFL someday, I also believed that 12 years at Florida was probably long enough. Many people in football believe that around 10-12 years in the same job is about the maximum time a coach should stay.”
