Denial isn’t just a river. 
Conference comparisons based on football alone are easy to make. The SEC has the best teams in college football. I don’t doubt that that will continue into the future. The SEC is a top conference in many sports…baseball, basketball, track and field. The SEC is a group of highly funded universities with excellent fan bases that support excellent facilities that attract the top recruits in the nation. It’s a "winning’ formula. The conference makes mega dollars. What I see in the ACC is a better mix of academic institutions that place critical resources in the educating of it’s students, and at the same time strive to be nationally competitive in sports. Now there is the temptation to make anecdotal references to USC’s international business school ranking, or Vanderbuilt, etc., but the average Joe or Betty isn’t getting accepted into UNC, Boston College, Georgia Tech, Virginia, Clemson, Wake Forest,(Notre Dame) etc., while they are being accepted into USC, Georgia, Alabama, Mississipi, LSU, Missouri, etc. The SEC is going to send more players to the NFL, but the ACC is going to send more graduates to the board rooms of the S&P 500.
