UGA vs USC

I like stats, but these type of stats are silly. What happened 4,5,10, 20 years ago is useless now. He11 last years stats do not have baring on this year. Teams go from 1st to worst and worst to first from the previous year.

Only the last five years count in stats, everyone knows that.

Except overall records and national championships. Everything else is irrelevant.

I included 4 and 5 years ago :stuck_out_tongue:

Those type of stats are great for the talking heads but we all know they mean nothing.

The interesting part of this game is the unknown because it is the 3rd week. And UGA has only played 1 game. So everything we know is based on the Clemson game. We all are assuming Clemson is a very good team, thus making UGA an even better team. But Clemson could be a bad team, or middle of the road. We just don’t know at this point.
This is why I love college football.

I am with Sirspear on this. While I do think the potential for GA to win big is there, nobody knows how well GA can pass the ball. Carolina is deep at LB and the front is not too shabby either. If USC can take care of the ball and establish the run it could be very close. That kid Allen-Williams is going to be really good once he gets better technique and could really help getting pressure on the quarterback later in the year. You may see a three back rotation out of Carolina if they can keep the game close.

Agree Andy. No one knows what UGA is after only 1 game because we don’t know if that 1 team is any good.
I personal believe UGA is a very good team. With a RB like Gurley, the QB only has to be decent.

Like I said I love this part of CFB.

There is a reason the games are played on the field.

The Sakkerliner LB’s are good, the D-line sucks. Last in TFL, last in QB Pressure, tied for last in sacks, YPCA 5.02, 83rd overall. Gurley and Chubb are going to have a field day.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

You know I like stats, but keep in mind that USC has played 2 teams with hurry-up offense that pass first. And if you look at the other teams in the nation, most played against cream-puffs. For instance, Clemsons stats are padded with SC state. FSU’s stats are padded with the Citadel. and those caliber games were the norm in the 1st 2 weeks of CFB.

You’re giving up 5.02 yards per carry to teams that are pass first. That doesn’t say a whole lot of good things about your D-line going against what can be argued as the best backfield in CFB.

Yeah, b

I agree it does not look good.
But if you play a pass first team…What do you defend against first…

Like I have said before, I think Gurley is going to run all over them. But comparing stats of a team that played 2 good passing teams against teams that played non D-1 teams is silly.

Whose comparing anything? Clemson is ranked lower than SC right now due to UGA running all over them and that is after padding the stats with the SCST game. SC’s played A&M and ECU, Div 1 teams, and is ranked that low. You’d think playing a pass first they’d defend the pass but, again, they are near the bottom there too.

Uh, no I didn’t. I posted the facts of the stats, since you like stats and there seems to be a lot of “feelings” about how the game is going to go based on past games and emotion. Can Sakkerliner win, sure anything is possible. Will they, doubtful. Will it be ugly, probably.

Oh and just so you chickenlickers know, I’m pulling for the Peckers. I’d rather pull for Sakkerliner than either UGA or UT. However, my rational thinking side thinks it’s going to be ugly.

Yeah, but do you

You posted stats compared to others stats.
But the rest of your post I agree with.
